How often does your Banner Ad appear?
Banners are placed in rotation on a monthly basis. Allen Online serves an
average of more than 600,000 page views each month and this number is continuing
to grow. Our banner rotation system is limited to no more than 25 banners
and by using a formula that rotates banners each page view, your banner will
receive approximately 24,000 impressions each month! Months when there are
less than 25 banners in rotation your impression count will increase. Best
of all, this increase will not cost you extra as we do not use a pricing
structure based upon cost per impression. But there is something else to
keep in mind.
Allen Online does not use the term "number of hits" as a determination of
our exposure or as an indication of how many people actually visit our web
site. Here is why as defined by Webopedia a computer dictionary for Internet
terms:
Hits: also called a page hit. The retrieval
of any item, like a page or a graphic, from a Web server. For example, when
a visitor calls up a Web page with four graphics, that's five hits, one for
the page and four for the graphics. For this reason hits often aren't a good
indication of Web traffic or number of web site visitors.
At Allen Online we use the term page views which is defined as any file dished
out by a web server that would generally be considered a web document. Why
do we use page views instead of page hits? Last year Allen Online averaged
more than 2 million page hits each month. Page hits have no bearing on how
often your business information will be viewed. |
