snlsmithDoes anyone know what the new place is going to be between OTB and Arby's? I'm not even sure if it is going to be a food place or not.
NandoI think it is going to be a bank.
VGotwayBennigan's will be in that area by the end of the year.

Mike_PWe were hoping it would be a White Castle!!! M-m-m-m-m yummy sliders! Burp!!!
CupOfCappOh it would be nice to have White Castle. Its been years since I had it. I remember enjoy eating there.
civicmindedIt looked to me like they're looking for a tenant???

Here's a thought. Many folks have commented on favorite/not so favorite eateries. I'm curious about the Deli sections of our grocery stores. I have never tried any of these. They seem popular enough. How about some "war stories"?

VGotwayI'm not sure if that was to be the exact spot for Bennigan's or not. I work for their PR/Ad agency an just found out about it not too long ago.

As for grocery deli sections, I do like the Chinese food and chicken at Brookshires. I haven't tried the Tom Thumb in Allen, but the one on NW Hwy/Caruth Haven has pretty good food. Last time I tried the Chinese at Kroger, it wasn't too bad either. Now that we have 2 toddlers though we usually order from Hong Kong Express because they are less than 2 minutes from our house!

kimiSometimes it is best to leave those fun-filled, childhood memories behind. Just remember how wonderful that burger was. As an adult, I went to NY and our first stop was for a White Castle burger - you know as you grow older, that tummy made of iron changes. Definitely, the burger was better left a memory than the reality. :-)
civicmindedHere's the latest gossip on the Subject location (this date). I was in the Arby's, having my 95% adventure (later), and another customer approached me. This gentlemen, of Japanese influence, bagan asking me about Allen. Well I'm always ready for an opportunity as an ambassador so I tried to help. He wanted to know the name of the town, the population, AND the future of this vacant building. I knew only about our comments here, so didn't know how to answer. But he was wondering about the need for a Japanese restaurant. I said I thought the community would go for it. Now wait...I can't say this will be the tenant
deborahAny news? Would love a Japanese restaurant. We
love On the Border and also frequent Arbys. Japanese would be great. An IHOP or something that was 24 hours would be excellent also. (Do not think that building would accomidate.) No more burger places.
I eat at Jack in the Box. Best place for a cheap lunch.
icemanwbbThe fire marshall knows what tenant will be where. He must approve and test the fire sprinkler systems in every occupancy in town. One call to him and he might be able to help you all out about that location.
Stacy FDid anyone ever find out what this building is going to be? I am very curious!
deborahNothing as far as I can see. For lease sign still in the window. Appears to be just a building someone built hoping someone would lease it.
KayeWe were in OTB recently and asked about vacant space and were told that it was going to be a bank. Doesn't look bankish enough to me (i.e. no drive up lanes & too much glass). Also heard another hotel coming in behind OTB near hospital. For the previous poster on this BB who mentioned IHOP...A couple of years ago when the strip mall next to Target was in build-out phase, the section now occupied by REMAX originally had signs saying IHOP in the front windows seen from 75. Guess they backed out. Not enough parking I would presume. Too bad. We need one! Not enough family breakfast places around. Really tired of driving to McKinney for Golden Corral.
icemanwbbIt is a shell building with no tenant yet.
civicmindedI don't have any "insider" information yet. But there was some more activity here yesterday. Perhaps as the outside decor/theme develops, we'll just figure it out? With all of our local eatery detectives out there, it can't be a secret very long
