T O P I C     R E V I E W catlady Jakes is moving into the old Taco Bell by Blockbuster. I have been to the one on Skillman and their hamburgers are WONDERFUL. I can't wait for them to open. God love em! bandmom It was a Taco-Rama most recently, but before that it was a something and I think before that it was a something else - and before THAT it was a Taco Bell The old Taco-fill-in-the-blank is located on the south side of Jupiter at the place where Jupiter dead ends on Hwy 5 by the main parking lot entrance to the Lowery Center. Hope Jake's has better luck than its predecessors. That location has struggled mightily since the High School moved and it lost it's lunch trade and after school practice trade. catlady Jakes will be open around the 21!!! momofthree Jakes IS the most AWESOME burger place! We drive down to the one on Skillman often, so we are pumped that they are coming to Allen! They will open on May 21st. When you go order a milkshake, they are soooo good! Longlegsintexas I agree...Jake's has the BEST burgers in the Dallas area...and they are very inexpensive in my opinion...so it will be a great place for teenagers to go eat! momofthree Jakes is not going to open until the 27th. They are running behind. I will be waiting patiently! Nando Drove by Jakes today, looked like they were open, not many people there, no big fanfare for a grand opening. I still prefer Burger Zone, more quality and quanitity. Go check out Jake's for yourself! I sure wish that would've been a snuffers! The folks there were friendly, they remembered my order, and it was correct! Those are the three important things for me. I hope they can keep this up deborah I have not tried this place yet, but they were sure rocking at lunch today. I intended to go there just to see, but the line at the drivethru was too long for me. Let you know more when I do. I hope they are successful. We need success on this side of town. Debi Tried Jake's today for lunch...it was okay but not the best. Will try them again once they aren't so busy maybe it will improve. kirb Was excited to try Jake's...but what a disappointment! Went to Jake's for dinner tonight. It wasn't too crowded...but service was slow. We had the burger combo with cheese and onion rings. The rings were good but the burgers were so-so. I have had a lot better. Even though Scotty P's is a little more money...we like their burgers much better than Jake's. It will be awhile before we eat at Jake's again. PAG Tried Jakes on Friday nite, take out. Honestly, the burgers weren't that great, same for the fries. The buns were bigger than the burger and the burger was flat. We used a coupon that came in a mailer so it was fairly cheap, but I don't think we'll go back. Just didn't get us on the first go around. kathy We tried Jakes today for lunch.We are very disappointed in the food and they missed up the order did not charge us for their mix up. We will not go back . HockeyFamily Tried Jakes for the first time...nothing to write home about. Great buns, that's about it. TXGirl Good food - but the cute guy in front of me sure was having trouble getting them to take the coupon they sent him...the girl forgot it when she rung up his order, and then said "oh well - why don't you use it next time" and he only got 2 burgers because of the coupon!! At the register on the other side, an older man didn't know what tater tots are, and the girl said (in an exasperated tone of voice) he should just get the french fries then. They didn't screw up anything for me - but I was just there to watch the cute guy eat :) BTW - he went back up to the register later to try to get them to void his order and ring it up again with the coupon, and they ignored him. The food and prices are good - but the service is severely lacking. macdaddy Txgirl--that seams to be a trend lately. bbinallen52402 I used to go to the Jakes in Dallas. It was aiways pretty good. I've been to this allen one a couple of times and have been dissappointed. I don't think their meat tastes very good. suzeeh I was expecting a huge hamburger by the wrapping when it came out only to find a gigantic bun with a little bitty flavorless hamburger. Then they globbed mustard all over it. The onion rings were good though.
