Since we won the conference football championship, does that mean we get to host a playoff game? Go Eagles and congratulations. I knew the finals were at Texas Stadium, but not the opening rounds. Can you give me a quick, overview of how the playoffs work? And thanks for the info, one again you have provided one of your citizens an answer....I don't think your Hitler or nothing. The draw to Texas Stadium is for the players, drill team and band to be able to perform there. My son played there twice and it was an experience he'll never forget. Also seeing your son or daughter perform there is quite an experience. The players have their name above their lockers on a Texas Stadium insert and are allowed to keep them, which is cool. Granted, it's not the most convenient location, but seeing Allen play there is worth it. All seats are general admission, so it's first come first serve on seating, but there are plenty of seats available there. Last year we didn't clinch a spot until the last week, so our first game was at Clark Stadium in Plano and second game against Lufkin(the Saturday after Thanksgiving) was in Waco. The championship game is in Austin at the University of Texas. [This message has been edited by richardb (edited November 13, 2001).] Thanks for the info. That system is different from Arkansas, but now I understand. Keyser_Soused - Not that I think you expect a serious answer, but it's a UIL event. Bone dry. All seats are general admission. Advance purchase available at the athletic office 8:00-4:15 through Thursday and 8:00-11:00 on Friday. Athletic office is in the new complex located across Rivercrest from AHS main campus. (RB - why don't we rename Rivercrest from Hwy 5 to Exchange "Eagle Way" or something?) Advance prices are $6 for adults and $5 for students. You can buy your ticket at the gate if you like. Price at the gate is $8 for all. See y'all at the game! 20-17 Does anyone know if Adam Naper's knee injury (on his first carry of the game for 30 yards)is serious or maybe just a sprain? There is a lot going on Saturday. 9th grade All-Region for the band, SAT, Color Guard Competition, etc. The result is the the band will only be able to take about 125 students (as opposed to our usual 290 student Escadrille). That also decreases the number of parents who can make it to the game. So, everybody ELSE needs to zip on down to Waco to fill the stands. AND, don't forget about basketball season. The teams are off to a great start. Lady Eagles are 5-0 and I think I heard the guys 6-1. Having said that, one can can only follow up with WOW! What an incredible season! Congratulations and many thanks to players, coaches, trainers and boosters for spirit, pride, hard work and a record season. We look forward to next year!dclark RichardB (or anyone else) richardb Unfortunately, no. Our first game is this Friday at 9:00PM at Texas Stadium. Plano East plays Mesquite at 6:00 and the Allen/North Garland game will follow. All tickets are general admission and will probably go on sale either tomorrow or Wednesday. dclark Well thats not good.... richardb dc: Here goes and if anyone knows anything different, please chime in. In Texas high school playoffs, all games are played at a neutral sight. Next, as soon as a team officially clinches a playoff spot, they can officially request Texas Stadium. Since Allen clinced early, they entered their request and was drawn for a game there. Same goes for Plano and Plano East, who both made the playoffs and both are playing at Texas Stadium this week. dclark My family may be at the game. A change to watch a game at Texas Stadium. And a bonus, good football. Allenite Interesting side note: For all the bashing that Jerry Jones receives, it is my understanding that he donates the use of Texas Stadium to high school football playoffs. If I'm wrong, I stand corrected. MikeP Does anyone know if they will be selling tickets AT Texas Stadium on Friday? Or do we have to buy in advance? If in advance, where will they be on sale? Keyser_Soze Can we purchase and consume BEER at TX Stadium during the Allen game??? vrs MikeP - There is no reserved seating. All tickets are general admission. That I know for sure. Because of that, I am 99% sure that you can get tickets Friday night - but I'd check the athletic office before I drove to Irving on that 1%. richardb Tickets can be bought in advance at the high school Athletic Complex, right vrs? vrs Okay - here's the scoop. SPENN Tickets can be purchased at the Athletic Facilty. Adult tickets are $6 and student tickets are $5. Tickets will also be on sale at Texas Stadium but will be $8 for all tickets purchased there. kdj WAY TO GO EAGLES!!! richardb Great game and great Allen crowd. I don't think it would be exagerating (much) to say the Allen number of fans were 20 times the North Garland. We had a lot and they just didn't hardly have any. SPENN Napper's injury is a possible torn ACL and MCL according to the Allen American. vrs Okay, sports fans. Regional playoff game is THIS SATURDAY, December 1, at 2 p.m. in Waco.
Here are directions to the stadium:

Quarterfinals are next, but we don't get there if we don't win this week.vrs Well, the final score was Allen 21 and Spring Westfield had more than that. The game was actually much closer than the score indicates. Allen overall looked like the better team and controlled the ball better, but didn't contain a few big plays. I am disappointed FOR the players at the outcome, but tremendously proud OF the team. dclark I agree. Congratulation on a great season.
