dclarkDoes anyone know where this weeks game will be played.

My family went to our first game last week in Texas Stadium. We had a blast. My youngest didn't make it to the end, but I was amazed at the turnout. I suppose what I always heard about high school football in Texas was true, at least in Allen. I suspect it was 5 to 1 on attendence. I just wish we could play some more home game. Great game guys and bring us home a state championship.

vrsTexas Stadium

Saturday at 1 p.m.

Be there or be square.

There's lots of opportunity for cheap shots about AHS being the winningest team at Texas Stadium this year, but I try to eschew the easy jibes. (Oh wait, I already made it, didn't I?)

Happy Thanksgiving!

dclarkLOL, I thought I saw Emmit asking to go in so he could get some yards.

Thanks for the info. Don't know if we will be back in town, but if so, count me there.

richardbGreat news. In today's Dallas News, Coach Martin reported that Adam Naper only had a sprained knee, not torn ACL/MCL and may play this week. Whether or not he plays is not something to give thanks for, but the fact he didn't tear up his knee. I've watched him play since he was 12 years old and was glad to hear the news.
Again, kudos are do for the turnout for the game last Friday. vrs: do you know how many were there?
vrsYeah, I do, as a matter of fact. It was a bunch.

No, I don't have gate count. The entire lower deck from end zone to end zone was pretty full. I don't think your 10 to 1 estimate was exaggeration at all.

I am reallllly glad to hear good news about Adam. I hate to see any of the kids hurt. I'd like to say that's why my sons don't play football, but I have one in a cast from knuckles to shoulder right now from a BAND-related injury. Don't ask.

dclarkvrs, come on you can't leave us hanging on that BAND injury.

Glad to hear that the knee is not as serious. I found out Friday night that one of my basketball players (6th grade) brothers was playing, and it got more interesting when I felt like I knew someone involved.

Look forward to more. Sounded like from listening to different radio stations on the drive home from the game that the playoffs run forever. 6 weeks? Is that right.

okay, go to www.allenescadrille.org

choose drumline competition and then skate(2)

The injury is a torn ligament sheath and is a combination of cumulative stress from cymbal spinning and a few not-perfect landings of what you see in the picture......

kdjAllen 20-Longview 17!!!!!!

GO EAGLES-GO EAGLES...!!!!

vrsI am not a very sophisticated football afficionado, but Coach Martin seems to be playing a very simple strategy here - the team with the most points on the scoreboard WHEN THE CLOCK RUNS OUT is the one that wins the game.

Waco is less than two hours from Allen. Just head on down toward Texas stadium, but veer a little left as you approach Loop 12 and cruise on down I35. Longview had a great crowd travel in for their team on Saturday; I hope we can do the same next weekend for ours. Kickoff is, I believe, at 2 p.m. so this is just a really nice day trip. Leave by late morning, home by 8 p.m.

Band mom note: Longview had their drill team closest to the field, with twirlers above that, then flutes and woodwinds, and percussion and brass were at the top - good concert arrangement, least volume at field level. Mr. Gibson arranges the Escadrille with brass and percussion at field level, then the rest of the band, with color guard and drill team at the top. Less aesthetically correct, but much more powerful sound on the field. As an opponent, you do not want to be 3rd and long or 4th and short in front of our band.

that boy should keep his feet on the ground.

Way to go Eagles. I read where this is as further than they have ever advanced in the playoff's, is that correct?

vrs"That boy should keep his feet on the ground." Hmmmmmm, true on so many levels......

This is as far as we've been as a 5A school. Not sure what the 4A record was. Anybody?
