denisew I was looking at the ASA site - www.allensports.org and was shocked at the prices they now charge for soccer. When my son first started, it only cost $40 for the youngest group. Now it is up to $65. And, if we want to register our 7-year old late, it will cost $85 and there is not a guarantee that he will get on a team, but if he doesn't, at least they will give a refund. I guess they call this "sticker shock" like when you go to buy a new car seeing how much the prices have gone up. I guess someone in the ASA office got a pay raise. pbjlili I was also shocked when I signed my son for baseball. I think I would be okay if it included uniforms. I have no idea how much more that will cost. My siste who lives in Central TX says this is nothing. She has to pay $200 per kid for them to play a sport. How crazy is that!!! LauraW Yikes! Anyone know how much basketball is? VGotway Maybe we'll stick with dance classes for a long time...ouch! denisew You can find out how much basketball costs at their site - www.allensports.org.
Wow - $200? That is a lot, but you know by the time we pay the almost $100 or whatever it is to sign the kids up for baseball, we then have to turn around and buy pants, cleats, belt, socks, jock strap, etc. which will bring it pretty close to that $200 depending on the brands we select. My husband and I discussed this and our boys are involved with Cub Scouts and know that Jazzercise offers a fun class for kids (boys and girls) at the schools after school called Jazzerkids and we plan on getting them into that. It is less expensive than ASA and they are still getting exercise. My boys are in agreement that they want to do this since I have been going to Jazzercise for the past few months and they know it is a good form of exercise.cc I know...I always freak out at the cost, but I enroll my son every year for soccer because he is an only child and it is important for him to hang with other children and learn to work as a team. I keep him on the same team every year so at least I don't have to buy new uniforms every season...that would get really expensive! tamss13 Yea sports are a little high. The price we must pay. I wanted my son to play flag football and baseball, but we ended up baseball and will try soccer in the spring.
