Veronica Veronica In regards to phone service, I use Verizon. They have been pretty good thus far. VeronicaVGotway I just read that AT&T; Digital phone service is going to shut down at the end of this month. I've already used Sage (repairs take to long) and can't stand the thought of going back to a huge phone company like SWBell. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I need two phone lines (1 for the computer). My mom is in the same boat so any ideas would be appreciated!
[email protected]BrianH We use CoServ. We've had no problems with them except for one minor problem when we first moved in and that was corrected immediately. They may be a little more expensive than SWBell, though. Our monthly bill is running around $62 with no long distance. VGotway Didn't they just go bankrupt? We may just go back to SWBell. Not much chance of a huge company like that going out of business - I hope. I'm not so sure that de-regulation of local phone service was such a good idea afterall.
[email protected]AvonMom I just got off the phone with AT&T; Broadband and as far as Digital phone service nad long distance...it is NOT being dicontinued in our area. The number I called was the number on my phone bill 1-800-288-4622. I don't know if this applies to cable and internet access I guess I have to call a different number for that. You know when you think about this...we have phone, cable and internet through AT&T...isn;'t that some kind of monopoly or aginst FCC regulations??? You would think so??!! Hope this puts your mind at rest a little regarding your phone service. jenniferd I think it can only be considered a monopoly if AT&T; is the only vendor that you have access to. A company or group having exclusive control over a commercial activity. Gary Only one of the CoServ companies is going bankrupt, IIRC it was the company that serviced apartment complexes. AT&T; Fixed Wireless is closing in our area, not the Broadband group that provides telephone service over the TV cable connect. I switched from SWB to Sage about 4 months ago and have had no problem, just a lower monthly telephone bill. VGotway Thank goodness Tiffany! The article in the newspaper made it sound like it was all the Broadband services that were going out of business! I really don't want to switch because the service has been good so far. Thank you for the clarification!
