I would like to inform you about some of the changes that have taken place on Allen Online. The only affect this may have on you is that you may need to re-bookmark the Allen Online homepage in your browsers favorites section. You may also need to click the refresh button on your browser to reset the page. As Im sure you are already aware, the look of the homepage has changed. While all the usual community links are still there you now see a new section called the Allen Online Mall. You will now be able to conveniently visit with local Allen businesses and merchants directly from our homepage. You can still find local businesses listed by category by clicking the Shop Allen link to get to the Allen Online Mall Directory. This replaces the Business and Shopping Directory. Please keep in mind that many of these businesses are small businesses and they rely on Allen residents to Shop Allen. Over the years the Allen business community has shown wonderful support for this web site and if you patronize these shops please tell them that you saw their advertisement on Allen Online. And since many of you like to recommend stores and services on our message board, we would appreciate if you would tell your favorite stores not listed on Allen Online to consider placing an advertisement. Now in our 3rd year of operation more than 10,000 visitors access the Allen Online homepage each month and this continues to grow. If you know the email address of someone in Allen and you would like to tell them about Allen Online, there is a convenient link on many pages that will do this automatically for you. The link is called Tell a Friend about Allen Online. Already, hundreds of Allen residents have used this. Also of note. Thank you, Thanks for the fresh new look! I know it takes a lot of time and effort to update a website and I appreciate your work! Especially when it is all created in your spare time. There is one thing that I would like to comment on and offer a suggestion. The blue on black links are somewhat hard to read. Maybe a larger font or different color would be a little easier on the eyes. Just a polite suggestion and keep up the appreciated hard work! Great new look. I know your advertisers appreciate having their links right at the top and we still don't have to scroll a long way down for the community links. A very effective revision on the format. Thanks for all you do. Your suggestion about the larger font is well founded. I have increased the size and hope they are now easier to read. Keep the comments going. I can always use the help. Thanks I just think the blue on black is difficult to read and it was not my first reaction to mouse over the text initially to make the color change. Perhaps make the header of the frameset a little more narrow, the extra white space plays with my head a little bit when I am scrolling. Your idea about the header is a good one. This is my first attempt fooling with frames. Thanks [This message has been edited by Webmaster (edited January 07, 2002).]Webmaster Hi:
A recent article in the Dallas Morning News about community Internet message boards shows how this is becoming a very popular way for residents to discuss issues. They mention that message boards in The Colony and in Mesquite have a few hundred people registered. Allen Talk is now approaching 500 registered members. This makes Allen Talk one of the largest and most active messages boards in North Texas. The help that many of you provide to your fellow Allen residents is commendable and shows what a great place Allen is to live in.
Webmasterc3lost I really like the new look! This web site has helped me trememdously. When my husband was transferred we really didn't know much about the area, but this was one of the websites that helped us decide!
