I have asked the Webmaster if I can place it in this forum because there is not really any other place to put it. He gave me the okay. Here it is: "What word is pronounced differently when the first letter is capitalized?" I know four that qualify. One is Herb. Can you name the other three or, come up with more than the four I know? The Riddler The four I had were: The Riddler You want to send a valuable object to a friend securely. You have a box that can be fitted with multiple locks, and you have several locks and their corresponding keys. However, your friend does not have any keys to your locks, and if you send a key in an unlocked box, the key could be copied en route. How can you send the object securely? Riddler 2. Friend aquires the box and places HIS lock on the box. 3. Friend sends me the box with both my lock and his. 4. I remove my lock from the box. 5. Send the box to the friend with only his lock, in which he has the only copy of the key. [This message has been edited by jenniferd (edited April 04, 2002).] Riddler This one is not too difficult. You've been sentenced to death in an obscure foreign country that has a strange law. Before the sentence is carried out, two papers -- one with "LIFE" written on it and one with "DEATH" written on it -- are folded up and placed in a hat. You are permitted to pick out one of the papers (without looking), and if you choose the one with "LIFE" written on it, you are set free. Otherwise, the death sentence is carried out. On this occasion, a mean-spirited acquaintance of yours, bent on your demise has substituted the paper with "LIFE" written on it with another one with "DEATH" written on it. This person gleefully informs you of what he has done and that you are doomed to die. You are not permitted to speak to anyone about this misdeed, nor will you have a chance to switch the papers or the hat yourself in time. How will you avoid certain death? Riddler If I were in that situation I suppose my only option would be to eat the paper and hope the executioner would not opt to kill me anyway. Of course, my luck would never go that far, lol. Riddler I'm where yesterday follows today, and tomorrow's in the middle. What am I? Riddler [This message has been edited by Marc (edited April 05, 2002).] Riddler Riddler Hi,

Riddler Brain Teaser #2
rock761 Use combination locks????? I never was any good at these. 2054usaf First send the valuable item to your friend in the locked box. Upon notification that it has arrived safely, send him the key.
Since he is already in possession of the object it would make no difference if someone had a copy of the key since he was in possession of the object secure in its box.jenniferd 1. Send the box with your own lock. PAG Whoa JenniferD! You go girl! Riddler jenniferd you're right! Excellent!

Riddler Brain Teaser #4
jenniferd You are a dictionary. Marc Going back to the death sentence riddle, I presume I would ask the Court to pick a folded paper out of the hat, with the one remaining in the hat to be my choice. Since the one drawn out says "death," then logically (to the Court's knowledge) the one in the hat would be "life."

Disregard; I misread Jennifer's answer and thought she had given up . . . what she actually had given was the answer. Good show, Jennifer.Riddler Point, Game, and Match -jenniferd.
