Earl Robson He is terrific. I have a 24-year-old refrigerator and a 23-year-old dryer that still give me good service, thanks to Earl. He has also repaired washing machine and dishwasher for me. Prices ar every reasonable and he is usually there the day I call or the next day at the latest. Super guy. Sometimes does magic tricks for the kids, too Maurice Anyone know of anyone we can call to fix our dryer (washing machine is fine, I think lol)? Last night wetried hooking it up and the drum won't turn in our dryer so we'll need to get it looked at and repaired. Chalk that up to the third thing our movers broke or lost on our move down here. kathy Try Earl at Collin County Appliance Repair. He is a small business located here in Allen. vrs Contact information:

Maurice Excellent! Thanks for the info, I'll give him a call tomorrow if my little attempts at fixing it tonight fail. I found a neat website, repairclinic.com that gives you information on fixing appliances and I want to see if it's something simple that's holding up the drum. If not then I'll definitely give Earl a call, thanks again!! bbaker Speaking of washers/dryers. I just got new ones and my old (10 yrs old) are sitting out back free to anyone who wants to fix them. The washer doesn't spin and the dryer doesn't heat. They are largest capacity Whirlpool made in early 90's. Almond color.
Oh yea...the washer has infinate water level (can't get that anymore)civicminded Hi maurice. I may be "civicminded", but don't let this keyboard fool anyone.....I'm no mechanic
Okay, my point is that usually the problem mentioned is of minor nature. I don't mess with the motors, but heating elements, bushings, and belts are within most folks' abilities. Unless they just don't want to mess with this (perfectly understandable). Perhaps the tumbler became dislodged during moving? Some models feature a nylon style bushing that holds the tumbler in place for spinning. They do wear out with heavy use. If it's a belt, these are relatively easy, though getting to all of this is probably the bigger effort. "Been there, done that, and got the tee shirt (dried of course)". civicminded bbaker, may we contact you re: the dryer, unless it's gone
bbaker Sorry civicminded....gave them away last nite. Maurice Thanks Civic, actually Earl made it out to the house and was able to fix the problem easily. Somehow the drum was knocked off of it's mounting, strange but true. civicminded Man I hate it when you get knocked off of the mounting! Good news about the dryer though. And while I'm having this much fun.....folks should always try to get up, dust off, and try things again
