How times have changed. There are maybe two 60-era mustangs at our school, they are real finds. I don't what you heard about those "good old days" or where you lived, but there was traffic, I was pulled over many times as a teenager. I only got two tickets. One for a loud muffler (it had a hole in it) and one for expired inspection sticker. I think they just wanted to pull me over and make sure I wasn't up to no good. I learned how to work on cars with that FORD Mustang. I could not afford to put it in the shop so I did all the work myself. I went through about 20 sets of U-joints, 10 throw out bearings, 4 clutches, one rear-axle, and completely rebuilt the engine. mschmoyer Anybody on this board own a Ford Mustang? Me and some (responsible) friends were thinking about having a cruise around Allen and dinner at a popular restuarant, if there are any owners out there interested, give me an email at [email protected]
Mikecampbellfam My first car was a 1967 Ford Mustang. My Dad and I spent weeks re-doing the interior (when we bought it, it actually had shag carpeting!) and I drove it all through high school-Gosh, I miss that car! mschmoyer Wow, nice ride. I wish I was a teen in that era, era of no emissions, lots of long empty roads, no traffic jams, and no cops pulling you over for missing front licence plates or not signaling 100 ft. before a sign! campbellfam ...or spotting your out of date registration from 200 yards away (how do they do that!?)
I should have clarified that we bought the car in 1987 and times then weren't too much different than they are now. Although, I can remember when Cottonwood Creek was a brand new subdivision and McDermott from 75 to Coit (where it then dead-ended) was a 2-lane-one-step-up-from-dirt-road that was surrounded by a whole lot-o'nothin!
My mustang was "springtime yellow" and when I was a junior in high school there were 3 other springtime yellow mustangs; a 65, a 66 and a 68! We would all try to leave school around the same time-kind of our own little car cruise...mschmoyer Yes I remember those days, we bought a new house in Cottonwood creek back then
. I used to be able to see Ford from Vaughn. McDonalds and Exxon (i think it is) were the only two structures on that side of the highway.Michael I had a 1967 Mustang in high school. It was white with a red interior. I don't want to date myself, but it was less than 10 years old. I went everywhere in that car. I must have put 200 miles on that car every weekend just driving around Fort Worth.
