43MERELLMy husband I left for a week-end getaway on Saturday morning and returned Sunday about 3:00 pm. I went out to get my mail and when walking back I noticed something missing. Right beside my sidewalk near the entry I had a huge clay flower pot with beautiful red geraniums in it. It was gone!! I was just stunned...who goes around stealing flower pots?? I live on Meadow Creek near High Meadow and it's supposedly a good area. I am angry and surprised that someone has the gall to come to my front door and take my flowers. It was real heavy...hope they hurt their back in the process!!

denisewThat is how I felt when our Christmas decorations were stolen a few years ago. You get angry, then you just have to get over it and replace it. You can't dwell on it otherwise you will end up making yourself sick over it and that is not worth it.
civicmindedYep, a sad thing it is. This happens quite a bit in my area too. The last thing to "walk off" was a recycle bin of cans??? Gee, that really helped someone out, ha-ha. One of the times the Police actually responded to my request (item taken from car), they asked "what do you want us to do about it"....I said that I mostly wanted them to know what was happening in the area, just to increase their awareness about the neighborhood. Maybe we need an "Onliners' neighborhood Watch".
ljcI have a flower bed on the outside of my fence and about 2 weeks ago someone stole one of my white iris plants. They took more than half of the plant and left the remainder on top of the ground. If they had come to my door I would have gladly given them part, but from now on I will plant my favorites in the back yard.
