Im looking for an apartment in Allen, fairly cheap rent though. Can anyone tell me about the Bethany or Shadow Ridge apartments behind Boyd. Or is there any other fairly priced apartments in Allen.......

RazTazI personally would not recommend them. Wyndsor Court on Jupiter at Main is nice and fairly reasonably priced. There are also some apartments behind Big Lots. The first set (can't remember the names) have been there a very long time, but they have been kept up reasonably well. The next set are new and I believe they are government subsidised housing (depending on your income and the number of children in your family). I would recommend all of these, but not the ones that you originally mentioned. Hope this information helps.
SeanKellyYou might also check out aptratings.com's reviews of Allen apartment complexes:

Note that the ratings typically run fairly poor in general on that site, even at places that I personally thought were pretty good, so take it with a couple grains of kosher salt.

vrsI have known a number of folks who live in Cottonwood Creek - the ones to which RazTaz refers (North of Brookshires on Hwy 5) They are older, but well maintained.

Most of what you need is right there on the corner - so it's a great location. Don't know the ages of your children, but those apartments now (as of 2003-2004) go to Reed Elementary and Curtis Middle School (just down Rivercrest), with Lowery and AHS right there also.

As soon as you decide where you are going to be living, be sure to go to the school(s) where your children will be enrolled and register them to help ensure they'll be in the neighborhood school right away.

The School attendance zones are online:
