daydream_weaverand my son gets to celebrate his 7th birthday in the heat.

I was thinking about going to one of the parks and grilling out around 6:30 to 8:30 pm

Yet, I don't know the time the parks *close* technically, and I wanted to find out if Celebration Park has grills near the tables? Also, how long is the water park there open?

I can think of a few other places to do this, but was thinking that the water park may make some really hot kids happy!

Does anyone have any ideas for where to have a kid's birthday party, in the heat of summer, where they can stay cool and it's still affordable?

VGotwayAngie- We're having a pool party for Maggie at my in-law's house (invites are going out today so you'll get it by Monday).

Does Ford Pool still do parties? My best friend's mom used to rent the whole place every year for my friend's and her brother's birthday party (they were 1 year apart so they shared a party).

pkstewartThe natitorium does parties I believe. Its affordable. If not you can always eat out by the patio. I beleive its $3 a kid to get in.

There is a really neat McDonalds in Frisco. Really neat. The cost is probably just the cost of a happy meal.

OakPointe pool in Plano off of Jupiter is fun and affordable.

cchavezCan you describe more about the neat mcdonalds? Where is is located? Would it be toddler friendly? Thanks/
civicmindedYeah, I was curious too. I don't frequent the "mickey-d's" places, but might for an interesting spot

pkstewartYes, it is at 121 and Preston. The inside eating area is fancy smancy, wood paneling, and so forth. The play area has computer games, flashing lights, and its four times bigger than the ones around here. Can't remember all they had but it sure was neat. Its more than worth the 15 minute drive for little ones and the older ones two, who can play computer games if they are too tall for everything else.
civicmindedOh that one, yeah...it's on the Plano side of 121
daydream_weaverThanks ya'll!

I appreciate the help!

Ford Pool is $100 to rent. Not a horrible price, but we are trying to keep it down a bit, I think the Natatorium was near that price as well. Just a little out of budget range for us.

The only time I miss a pool/cooling off is when it's time to celebrate Chace's birthday because it's so blasted hot.

The McDonald's idea does sound kind of neat...

I probably will just have it at home though because my oldest daughter needs to be kept in a germ free environment (as germ free as I can get it) because her immune system isn't up to par.

Thanks for the help!
