pkstewartAnyone know where I can get my CPR certification renewed without it costing an arm and a leg? My son needs to get his registration for the first time as well. I paid $50 at the Red Cross in McKinney last time.
civicmindedHmmm, well "pk" there may be some possibilities. As Public Servants, we generally avoid recommending specific companies or brands of things, but there are places to consider. But I am a little out of touch with my old CPR contacts

Local chapters of the ARC are going to be about the same cost I think. Sometimes there are additional classes (subjects) offered in conjunction with CPR. Some area Fire Departments have begun offering this to citizens, unless they need it for business purposes. In such cases one would have to find a class, and pay for it Some hospitals have Education departments that offer this. Some cities have offered this, other than through the "FD". Continuing Ed classes, or outreach efforts may offer this? I will check within my "network" and see if we can "rescue" you on this

Long ago, in a galaxy far away......this was often free or not very much anyway. I think we know how it's gonna be now. But I am pleased you're keeping up with your "Cert".

MsAlyceAllen community education offers CPR classes. Don't know when the next one will be offered, you could call AISD.
civicmindedThere you go pk. Hopefully you've been "rescued"
sirhotwheelsI keep mine knew at the class at CCCC. I don't remember the cost, like christmas its only once a year so I forget.
pkstewartThat's the problem. Continuing Ed. isn't ongoing so that's not a solution either. I guess its Red Cross in McKinney again.
civicmindedWell, at least it's better than it once was. my first formal class (after those in Scouts) was at the McKinney Chapter (ARC) in about '71.

Maybe we need a contingent of students from allenonline??

YounggrandmaPK, perhaps you could talk to the daycare centers they maybe having to renew theirs soon and would let you join them. Just a thought.
BrowniesmomI know it sounds weird, but you may check with tejasgsc.org the Girl Scouts organization requires that all volunteers and parent leaders are certified in order to run meetings so they may be able to help. Good luck.
