I've heard great things about the off duty firemen though. Check them out. The recomendation to use this company began as a misunderstanding. Another person who moved, when asked who he used, said "Oh I'm not sure, two guys and a truck." He didn't remember and wasn't naming a company but it was taken that way - a moving company existed with a very similiar name - and they were hired. The rest of us followed the recomendation of this second person. I found that pricing can vary quite a bit so take some recomendations that catch your attention and get a few quotes for the job. (This is my countdown to Civicminded chiming in on this thread Click Here: www.allenonline.com/BusinessDirectory/Category/Movers.html regim I don't have a much to move (1 Bedroom Apt). The bedroom set is the only major funiture that I have and about 40 boxes. Does anyone know of a dependable mover and about pricing? I am moving from North Dallas to Allen. Thanks. allen_couple Whoever you go with, DON'T hire...well maybe I shouldn't mention their actually company name...but they bill themselves as Students who are Starving and they're Movers. We used them. They sucked. SB I and a couple co-workers used Two Men and A Truck moving company when we made our respective moves in the last year. All of us were very satisfied with the service provided by this company. West I've also heard good things about the off duty firemen. Does anyone know how to contact them and about what their prices are? vrs 10-9-8-7-6-.......

I misplaced me-self in traffic today, but I'm here. I do know a couple of fireperson movers. Some are on Duty today and I will try to link up. I won't guess at prices because I would be wrong
denisew Yes, as I read this post all I could think of was hire some off duty firemen . . . civicminded regim, I've updated my profile, so email me with your anticipated "move" dates, and floor level there and destination. And I'll keep trying contacts
Bandit's Gang The name of the off duty fire fighters moving company that we used before is "Movestar" I think. They were wonderful to deal with even though I am sure I wasn't. I was expecting my fourth child (hugely)and my husband was out of town. I remember bursting into tears when I couldn't find the checkbook to pay them with. It has been almost eight years, so my experience wasn't exactly recent. I am sure whoever civic comes up with would do a great job. You don't have a lot to move, are you sure you can't hire a couple of friends for a lasagne dinner? civicminded Did someone say dinner, haha. Yeah, I can see it now...about seven or so "onliners", move some stuff, eat, move more stuff, meet for coffee.....hmmm, it could work, haha. denisew Ordering lots of pizza worked for us in the past. Soft drinks on the side is nice too, or even a nice cold beer. That always goes good with pizza.
