denisewIf any of you out there enjoy fresh lettuce, sugar snap peas, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, radishes, etc.;now is the time to plant. You can get transplants for things like broccoli, lettuce and cabbage at the nurseries. Lettuce can also be started from seed very easily and is cheaper this way rather than buying transplants. I am still harvesting carrots and lettuce that I planted last fall and will clear this out soon to make room for more.

Planting tip: For the best results, add about 4 inches of compost to your soil before planting. Mix it in with a shovel, digging fork or tiller if you have one.
