There is an election upcoming on November 6. There are 19 propositions on the statewide ballot. You can find the wording of the propositions, along with a brief description of them, on the State of Texas elections web page:
http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/constitutionalamendments.shtml

Also, there is a Collin County bond proposal for a youth camp to be located in northern Collin County and a Collin County Community College District bond proposal.

Sample ballots and voting times and locations will be available online after October 9.

Meanwhile, the deadline to register to vote in the November 6 election is October 6. (THIS WEEK) Some people think that if you have a driver's license then you are registered to vote. Not true. You must fill out a voter registration form. If you are a registered voter and your name is on the role, then you can vote with only your driver's license as identification.

About 4% of registered voters make the majority of the electoral decisions in our country. Some good things will come of the recent tragedy we have expereinced, including a reawakening of our patriotism. One way to let that patriotism show is by making the effort to exercise your privilege and responsibility to vote - in an informed and responsible manner.
