Does anyone have a recommendation for a wine that goes well with turkey and is inexpensive. I'm also looking for wines in general that are fairly dry and that aren't over $15.00 a bottle. Thanking you in advance.

My favorite wine lately is a red Beaujolais that costs about $8 at Walmart Market and Kroger. It's from Georges Dubceuf. It's not as heavy as most red's, easy to drink.

Excellent suggestion, campbellfam!
A lot of people turn to sweeter rieslings or gewurtztraminers to try to stand up to the general sweetness of traditional Thanksgiving meals, but I think it's fun to have a red on the table even if poultry is the star of the show, and Beaujolaises are ideal.

From Consumer Reports...
Best choice in cabernet sauvignon:
Chateau Ste. Michelle $16
More expensive than some, but the only very good cabernet in our tests. Our tasters said: a monster of black fruit, black spice, and wood; firm tannin. Should improve in interesting ways.
Best values in shiraz/syrah; all are CR Best Buys:
Jacobs Creek $9
Jam-packed with flavor and aging potential. Adequate fruit to balance the wood.
Lindemans $10
A well-made, mouth-filling wine, though not quite enough shiraz/syrah character. Nice array of spices, wood notes, and black fruit.
Alice White $7
Full-flavored black fruit and red fruit on palate and nose.
Rosemount Estate $11
Big, ripe black and red fruit. Spicy notes. Not overly complex.
Best values in sauvignon blanc:
Babich $13
Very vivid, zesty flavor highlighted by a crisp acidity. A classic sauvignon blanc.
Villa Maria $11, CR Best Buy
Fresh-fruit flavors, vibrant acidity. Attractive blend of fruit and vegetal notes. Textbook sauvignon blanc flavors.
Veramonte $10, CR Best Buy
Grass and tropical fruit flavors supported by fresh acidity.
Good choices in merlot and chardonnay:
These wines, rated high last year, were all very good this year. Theyre in alphabetical order.
Bogle Vineyards 2002 $9, CR Best Buy (merlot)
Blends fruit and woody flavors and could benefit from aging to soften its tannins.
Chateau Souverain Sonoma County 2002 $14 (chardonnay)
A bit less complex and balanced than the excellent 2001 vintage, though still fruity and woody/buttery.
Concha y Toro Casillero del Diablo Rapel Valley (Chile) 2003 $9, CR Best Buy (merlot)
Blends fruit and woody flavors and could benefit from aging to soften its tannins.
Yellow Tail (Australia) 2003 $7, CR Best Buy (merlot)
Especially fruity, with more intense aromas than the other merlots.
Yellow Tail (Australia) 2003 $7, CR Best Buy (chardonnay)
Especially fruity.

Thanks for the wine info. I did buy your current favorite and my guests and I enjoyed it. I still have a few bottles stashed away!

I tried the Red Beaujolais from George Debceif. Not bad but I still prefer Merlot from Bella Sera better.

Merlot is my second favorite! I can't drink white wine, I get horrible headaches from it, allergy maybe? Don't know but I stay far away from it. So I love to try many different reds. I've never tried that label of Merlot, Cup, so I'll look for it .
I'm glad the Beaujolais worked out for you, Debbie!

My favorite red lately is BV Coastal Merlot. We tried the Jacob's Creek Shiraz that was on one of the lists and were pretty unimpressed. My husband and I also never drink white wine any more. The sweeter whites are all too sweet and I just plain don't like the taste of the dry whites.

I also like the BV Coastal Merlot and the Yellowtail Merlot from Australia.
