This place is under construction in between the auto parts stores near Sonic. It definately has a drive through window, but I just can't tell by the building shape what it's gonna be! Does anyone know?

Does anyone know what kind of foods Del Rancho will be served? The name sure sounded like a Mexican place. But I was told it would be like American foods. Maybe like BlackEye Peas resturant.

I googled Del Rancho restaurants and they have some locations in Oklahoma City and the cuisine is listed as "steak restaurant". I don't know if this is the same restaurant or not.

I went to the Interactive Development portion of the City of Allen Website and they have 719 E Main listed as a Mazzios Pizza. I also did a little checking on Del Rancho and it appears that it is a construction company. So maybe Del Rancho is building the Mazzios Pizza Restaurant???

Ok, to throw another twist into the mix...
I went to the tax rolls and looked up the address
The land is owned by Rosemond Holt LLC
The legal description of the land is called... DEL RANCHO, BLOCK A, LOT 1, ACRES 0.973

I'm from Oklahoma City and have eaten at Del Rancho. It's on the expensive side for what you get. It's mainly chicken fried steak sandwiches. The food has never been great either. As a matter of fact, most of the stores in OKC went out of business. Maybe that's why they are trying a new market.

I'm originally from Oklahoma City too. However, I disagree with everything you said.
They are not all out of business. I've been to several of their locations in OKC. I generally try to go everytime I get back there.

Hmmm, it's possible I'll be there (OKC) again soon, and may have to corral one of these places and check 'em out.

Sorry, I just had to correct AllenMom. I'm not getting on her case or anything, I just think she made an off-hand comment that people might take as fact. She stated that most of them had closed down (which is not true). I have been in OKC for the past two weeks and verified that. They recently opened stores in Tulsa and Mustang (from what the employees told me) and are looking for new franchisees (I asked).
The Edmond location shut down because that guy pulled out of the system and opened a restaurant under a different name. They say he tried to replicate the menu but is not doing very well. Sorry for being anal, but one or two closings does not equate to "most went out of business".
I'm looking forward to the new Allen location. I just wish I knew when they were opening. BTW, the Allen location seems very nice from what I can tell so far.

Funny, in between my driving adventures today, I get a call. Now getting a call isn't so neat, but this was a friend in OKC, telling me about "our" Del Rancho, haha. He says it's their first venture out of the okie lands, and ours offers inside dining, which is apparently unusual. He also said they planned to open this month. He says they're well known for their supreme sandwich and onion rings. I told him I'm a few hundred yards away, and will try them. But, y'all can have the onions.

I noticed an Opening Soon sign today announcing the Del Rancho restaurant. Also, it said it was "The Home of the Supreme Steak Sandwich" or something close tot hat. LOL
Looking forward to that!

Anyone know when Del Rancho will get open? Someone told me they are getting close and may be hiring now. He said he saw cleaning crews in there.

I think the Internet had 19 July. And that this store was owned by one of the grandsons.
I've been trying to reach them, to ask if they need practice customers. I think it would be a win-win if the onliners were the ones invited, haha.

I've talked to friends in Oklahoma and have gotten mixed reviews. Several had never heard of them, a couple said they were the next step above a greasy spoon, another said great burgers, so I'm not sure what to expect.
