MP3 Question
      #26130 - 04/13/06 09:05 AM

I have a book on CD that I'd like to listen to on my MP3 player when I walk in the mornings. The problem is, when I upload and convert to MP3 it uploads each track separately. There are 11 CD's with 17 to 19 tracks per CD, with each track labeled 1 through 19 on each CD. So you can see where it might be a problem to have track 1 - 19 on CD 1, then tracks 1 - 19 from CD 2, etc.. I'd like to upload each CD as one file so I can just listen straight through and only have to mess with 11 different files (or tracks) on my MP3 player. Is this possible and does anybody know how to do this?

Thanks for your help.

Depending on the software you are using, there is usually an option to name the files...

Example:

CD01-01.mp3
CD01-02.mp3
.
.
.
CD01-19.mp3
CD02-19.mp3
CD03-19.mp3

This method will keep the cd's and songs in the order you need them.

what software are you using to covert the CD's?

I'm using Window's Media Player, or I can use the software that came with my Creative MP3 player. I can change the names of the files, but I was really hoping to have each CD be one file, so that I'd have 11 big files instead of 209 smaller files. Is it possible to upload a whole CD as one file?

you could use an audio editor to combine all the mp3 files into 1 file. A free basic program is Audacity. try googling it.

Ah...now I get it...^^^^^ is a good solution. Here's another one you can Google: MP3 Multiplexer 3.0 (freeware)
