I hate to admit it but I've gotten hooked on this show. Its the first season I've watched and it is quite intoxicating. I heard the ratings went down when Kevin, the young boy with glasses, was voted off. I wonder if thats true, and if so, what will happen with Ace being voted off.

Dunno, don't care. lol Linda watches the show all the time, you should chat with her about it and Cam's mom since they watch both and are addicted to it like you. :)
Personally, I despise all these 'reality' shows. They're just as scripted as regular series tv, they're just using lower paid people to be 'actors' so it's a cheap win for the channels doing them.

I think the final 2 will be Taylor and Katherine- to me they are the 2 most consistently good performers, although Paris is just so fun to watch!

I don't know why this reality show is different. Its the only one I have watched. I normally don't care for the reality show concept, Survivor, etc.
As long as Taylor, Chris, or Katherine win I'll be happy. AI editors sure put Ace out to dry. The Queen cutdown was manufactured by the editors according to the lead singer's web site. Kelly should have got it first, then Paris or Ace. I think the misconception that Ace was trying to change his arrangement and make Queen's We Will Rock You too "pop" really hurt him.

I didn't get that at all while watching it- he just never sang very well on stage. Whenever they showed him practicing he always sounding good then he gets on stage and his performance seems to just fall apart, nerves?
I thought Chris was awesome last night- I love that he's really getting better when others are getting worse (what is up with Kelly? In the first weeks, I thought she might be 1of the final 2)
I thought Katherine was going to fall out of her dress (from the top or the bottom)! And although I thought they were harsh with her, I think she needed to be reminded not to get too big of a head.

I think Ace did have a tendency to sing better when they had the bottom three sing instead of during his actual performance. I really liked his vocals though.
Chris was awesome. Katherine too. You know, they were suppose to sing love songs, she picked a great song and nailed it. The criticism that she shouldn't have picked a W. Houston song was wrong IMHO. Whitney who?? I don't get Paris and Elliot. Judges like to use the terms karioke and cabaret for the others and I think Paris and Elliot always sound that way. Taylor's performance wasn't his best. Kelly has got to go or otherwise its a popularity contest and not a singing competition.

I agree about Paris and Elliot (although I still think Paris is adorable) they always seem to pick the most boring songs and put on a corny performance.
WHAT was up with Paula crying? DH and I think she needs to check herself into Betty Ford...

Yeah, Kelly's gone now. 
Who's next??? I think Paris. She has been in the bottom three a number of times. Simon said her performance was old-fashioned and like she was trying to impersonate an older singer. I thought so too. I thought she was trying to look like Gladys Knight with exaggerated facial expressions and head nods. The second fewest votes is up for grabs between Elliot and, I hate to say it, Taylor. Taylor wasn't spot on Tueday and that may hurt him but he definetly has the "wow" factor that I don't see it in Elliot. Does anyone actually vote and get through??

Taylor is Back ! It always so much fun to watch him.

Chris didn't shine this week like he usually does. His first song was good I thought, but his second, the one everyone remembers wasn't his best. I'm a bit worried for him.
Paris has got to go. Beebeebabeebeebeebeebebopbopbop.Her sound is annoying and she is not ready, hasn't paid her dues. Not her time.
My son had a good point with Taylor. He is a very good performer live, but all that shucking and jiving doesn't translate to a CD format. Is just his voice enough to carry a successful CD? His second song was pretty convincing. But how did he pull off a Beatles song in a BillBoard top 10 week? Katherine did great. Elliot. Wasn't he the little kid in ET? Eeelllliiiiooootttt, phone home. Katherine Taylor and Chris are more main stream and have the "wow" factor you need to be a star. Maybe its just more self confidence.

I think Paris needs more experience too- some time for her voice to develop. I think she has potential to be huge one day given the right chances.
Chris has improved over the weeks and I really enjoy watching him now. Elliot is just so-so. Katherine seems to have ups and downs- her 2nd song was great!
Taylor to me is just the whole package. He has so much charisma and is great to watch so he'll sell tickets and his voice really is very low, bluesy and smooth which with the right songs could sell alot of albums.

I can't stand Taylor! His voice is OK but his dance moves are annoying and I never really love the songs he picks. I would have liked to hear him actually do a contemporary song instead of basically cheating and choosing something 40 years old. I just don't see him selling a contemporary song on the radio. I think it will be Chris and Kathrine in the final. I am actually kind of disappointed this year. I really don't love any of the contestants. Last year I loved both Bo and Carrie from the beginning.

I loved Ace. Just don't tell my husband  Actually for me to really to say I like a celebrity they have to be taller than me. Its pretty sad when you look through a 50 Most Beautiful People magazine and there is one person taller than you. I shower 8 times a day but I just can't seem to shrink.

Ok, Simon- I mean Susan  It's a competition to judge singing talent not dancing. And as far as the song choices, I haven't been 100% thrilled with ANY of the song choices this season.

I cant wait til it come on tonite. I'm still rooting for Taylor Hicks.
By the way, knowing it not a dance contest but dancing shows he connecting to the song and music.
Like Chris, no personaility or not much moves is bored.

It looks like Katherine blew it. She forgot the lyrics. Too bad, I really liked her. Elliot has been in the bottom two or three so maybe he will be voted off. I just don't see the same thing in him that the judges do. Taylor did great though.

Did anyone else think that Seacrest was harsh last night when he told Chris he was out? And what was that a few weeks ago making Taylor pick which group would be staying?

I agree Seacrest was harsh on Chris. But Im not a fan of his though. I've been rooting for Taylor Hicks.
The AI was the one that made Taylor go to the lowest group and shake Chris hand. It wasnt very nice for AI to put Taylor in the spot. They did that to Bo Bice last year but Bo stood in the middle. It was nice of Bo do that. I think they made sure Taylor not to do the same thing.
