I guess this is probably just an extension of Maurice's deserted island post but I've seen a few movies since then.
-Just saw The Great Raid. Its wonderful. You should rent it.
-I also liked UltraViolet. I'm a weird female I have to admit.
-Eric Bana in Troy. He out acted Brad Pitt big time.
-Invasion - I loved that TV show and can't believe it got cancelled. William Fitchner is a great actor and the actress playing his wife was also very good.
-My favorite movie with Charlise Theron is Head in the Clouds. Her and Stuart Townsend's real life relationship transfers to pure love and a bit of lust in this very touching period piece available for rental.
-I really liked Hoodwinked. I thought it was just hilarious though not well received.
-24 and Kiefer Sutherland are fantastic. The actress who plays Chloe should have been nominated for an Emmy.
-I'm afraid I have to admit I'm hooked on a reality show, So You Think You Can Dance. The athleticisim (sp?) of these dancers as they put their heart and soul in every move is jaw dropping. Dirk N. only wishes he could jump that high.
-As far as music Kenny Wayne Sheppard is the next Stevie Ray Vaughan. Maroon 5's live CD is excellent though they are far from underrrated. Jet reminds me of the Beatles, not as good though, but reminscent of and Gavin DeGraw should be a household name. He is that good.
Saturday Night Live is still putting out great stuff after all these years. I love the old Steve Martin episodes. He can really play that banjo. The Best of Will Ferrell, J. Fallon, Game Show Parodies, etc. are soooo funny. I love to rent them.

The Great Raid was a great movie, another one you might be interested in the same fashion (although a prisoner movie not a rescue movie) is 'To End All Wars'. It stars Robert Carlysle, who I think is a fantastic actor and keifer Sutherland. It's a movie that can easily be overlooked since it's not about the US prisoners of war but about Scottish POW's in a Japanese camp.
Ultraviolet was an entertaining movie, I enjoyed it. It had some action, decent FX, Milla Jovovich, some gunkata (see Equilibrium with Christian Bale to find out all about gunkata), swords, Milla Jovovich again. lol It was similar to Aeon Flux, a movie you don't need to really think about but can enjoy easily.
Agree with you about Bana, he's an excellent actor. Gotta rent Chopper if you wanna see him do some great work. It's an adult movie though, has some language and violence.
I LOVE Chloe, she started out as such a little beyotch but she's turned that into being her charm. Mary lynn Rajskub is her name, great little actress.

Equilibrium was a fantastic movie. Christian Bale was so good in it. UltraViolet wasn't that good but was better than the critics said. Aeon Flux is worth renting but Equilibrium is better of the three. Christian Bale was in American Psycho. It too was an adult oriented movie but just a great acting job. To see him transform his body from super buff for AP to skeletal for The Machinist, then built for Batman Begins is actually scary.
I do need to rent Chopper. I keep forgetting to look for it. I've heard about it, but would like to see it.
