I have been a fan of Dancing With The Stars since it's first season (ok, I'm a guy that likes dancing so go ahead with the jokes). I'm disappointed in the fact that it has gotten away from a dancing competition and turned into a popularity contest. I think that they either need to have the voting done only by the judges (who still seem to favor certain celebs) or still involve the fans but limit them to just one vote. Prime example is that Jerry Stringer should never have lasted past the 1st week except for his huge fan base voting for him. I also think the judges need to stop with the personal comments - twinkle toes, battery in your pants, sex kitten, etc. The only judge who goes strictly by ability is Len, plus he is the only judge with a competition background.

It really has turned into a popularity contest. I could not believe that Sara Evans lasted past the first show, she was so wooden. And you are right on about the judges backgrounds and their favoritism. But, that is also part of what makes the show attract viewers.
I've always loved watching ballroom dancing, miss it being on PBS the way it once was.

Ok it could be because I have a personal dislike of Emmitt Smith, but even though he has improved, he still reminds me of Peter Boyle in Young Frankenstein.

I agree too. The DWTS message boards seem to predict that Emmitt is going to win the competition. Have you noticed that whenever he (or anyone else) refers to his football career it is always with the Dallas Cowboys, no mention of how he was dropped from the team and ended his career with the AZ Cardinals. Out of the 4 left, I am hoping Joey wins.

Don't get me wrong--I LOVE Emmitt and think he's doing a great job, but I don't think he's going to win. Joey might, but I gotta root for Mario  !!! Terrific dancer and what a cutey-pie!!!

Maybe I like the fact that he reminds me of Peter Boyle in Young Frankenstein is what makes me like Emmitt... But it is also that he seems to always have a charming smile on his face in the faster dances.
Can't back Mario, he has too much previous dance training for me to consider him a true 'newbie'to dancing.

I really like Joey - nothing against Mario, but I think that he has had dance experience and it trully is not fair - It would be nice if the ONLY girl left would win....but we know the guys will get the votes.....
