Gilmore girls and ER
      #33096 - 10/20/06 11:26 AM

I have yet to see an episode of Gilmore Girls this season. Anyone know what's going on?? Has it been interesting or is it losing steam?

Any ER fans?? I quit watching this show a couple of years ago but watched it last night to see what it was like with John Stamos in the cast. I thought it was pretty good. I guess I missed some things though - like Abby having a baby. And did her and Luka get married? The baby is his, right?

Lorelai told Luke she slept with Christopher, and the engagement is off. Lorelai is now dating Christopher. Christopher is trying really hard to woo and court her.

Emily got arrested for talking on her cell phone and Lorelai had to bail her out of jail. (Hilarious.)

Logan is still in London and Rory misses him. She's discovered text messaging so they've been communicating that way. She had to cover an art show for the Yale Daily News and met two girls while she was there. They came to Rory and Logan's apartment to hang out... as Rory doesn't have any friends besides Lane and Paris, those 2 girls will probably be around awhile.

Lane is pregnant. No one knows yet except Rory and Zack. Lane and Zack decided 2 episodes ago that "this baby SUCKS!". They aren't ready to be parents and each thought the other would be disappointed and upset about the pregnancy. Nothing more happened with them last week... maybe this week?

I'm sure I'm forgetting incidental stuff with Paul Anka or Taylor or Kirk or Sookie, but this is enough to catch you up!

What was forgotten above that I remember:

Taylor wanted to put a camera on the town stop light, Kirk was driving the test car - the flash from the camera blinded him and he crashed the car into Luke's place - so Luke had to fix the place before he could re-open it. If his place looks different that is why. April's mother had to go away, I think to take care of her grandmorther or something, so April is staying with Luke and she took him shopping to Target and got new things for his apartment.
So, his apartment is not so glum, she is also trying to be match maker and trying to fix him up with people. He told her he didn't want to get fixed up.

Everyone is worried about Christopher and Loreli, they believe that Christopher will hurt her again, they think she is dating Christopher as a re-bound thing and she is not over Luke yet.

I think the girls that Rory met will end up getting her into trouble and maybe cause trouble between her and Luke, I think he likes her not having a life or who knows it might make him come back or bring her over sooner (he got her tickets for her to come to London at Christmas time).

That is all I can remember to add.

As for ER, Abby and Luka are not married they are just living together with the baby, the baby almost died, it was born early because of Abby being shot in the last season ender. Except for John being there - nothing much else has changed Except Abby is a mom, I still have not figured out John's story line and his relationship with the people he lives with. Lila is in surgery now, she has to deal with a surgeon that it very rude - for me is to too over the top -The last couple of shows have been good - I don't know what else to say about it.

Gilmore Girls: What is the deal with the rocket that Logan gave Rory as a going away gift? Do we know? Does Rory know?

The rocket had to do with a Twilight Zone episode they watched together about a couple who loved each other or something- very random IMO.
These writers have made this show very boring very fast...

I agree. The plot line seems to bbbeee mmoovviingg aaa llloottt ssslloowweerr than previous seasons. I saw the episode where Rory thought the rocket was a symbol from a Twilight Zone show, but then I thought she decided it wasn't.

I wonder if this will be the last season for Gilmore Girls. You would think the writers would be smart enough to keep it interesting for a while longer, but it just seems tired. Even the bit about Lane being pregnant could be interesting, but it seems to be falling flat. Is it just me?

Can't believe I forgot about Kirk driving through Luke's. Hilarious. The best thing was when Kirk, opportunist that he is, opened up his own restaurant: "Kirk's", across the street. It was outside, no building. Kirk had on the trademark backwards hat and flannel that Luke wears, and there was even a "no cell phones" sign tacked to a telephone pole. Funny.

And this is the last season of the show, according to some websites.

I don't think the true meaning of the rocket has been established. After the Twilight Zone symbolism was revealed, nothing more was said about it so I'm not totally sold that Logan meant it as some deep declaration of love.

I wonder if Luke and April's mother will hook back up...

Yea, I forgot about the Kirk Diner - that was funny -

I don't think the rocket is as complex as Rory is making it out to be, I think she was suppose to fire it and maybe it had a message in it or something. That is what I would have done with the rocket - It was never confirmed or Logan never really said what it was, just wanted to know if she liked it.

I heard the show is not going to be renewed -

I think Luke might date her again, when he finds out about Lorelie and Christopher -

No, I think Rory is reading way too much into the rocket. Logan is not deep. It will probably turn out to be something pretty mundane and shallow, as that is more Logan's m.o.

Thanks for catching me up on my Gilmore Girls. I actually got to watch it last night!!! I can't get used to the Lorelai/Christopher as a couple thing. It seems strange that she was so in love with Luke and then after one night immediately started this new relationship with Chris. I really used to want them together but now I find it kind of boring. HMMMM

Did anyone else think that Logan was going to pop the question on that roof top???? Boy was I disappointed. And I knew that Logan was probably working with some gorgeous woman. I would be jealous too! I felt bad for Rory at that dinner in NYC. They talked to her like she was still a child.

They are going to have to get on with it if they are wrapping things up this season!

I think Lorelie is in denial and Chris is the rebound guy. Notice that she wouldn't go to the town meeting because Luke might be there. I think as some point she'll come face to face with Luke and realize that.

I think it is because of Halloween and the upcoming November sweeps. Most of the programs we enjoy are showing reruns - some even did last week too. At least we can look forward to fun new shows in November before the holiday reruns start. =)

I think they do reuns right before sweeps to make sure we'll all tune in.

OK, I realize I don't watch any of the TV shows everyone knows about. I've even met ol' Emmitt before, but have 0 interest in any dance qualities, haha. I know about reruns, and will look if they're in my approved oldie list.

But WHAT ARE SWEEPS? Haha, please be gentle.

Civic, I'm beginning to doubt that you are a firefighter Most of what my husband knows about TV and movies and stuff he learned at the station.

In a nutshell, sweeps is a period of time when the ratings mean the most to the networks and depending on what the numbers of viewers look like it can make or break a show.

Haha, OK I understand now. Well, it's kinda the way it is. I don't watch sports, new movies, or sitcom/comedy shows. I don't watch or care for ratings, celebrity award shows, or polls either. I don't even know the characters mentioned in the TV/movie forums, except the ones I've met or heard about in the news. Guess I better get outta the way here right after this.

My crew usually watch their individual TV's in the evening, and leave me alone in the dayroom. All I have then is a 52" hi-def thing, with more initials than I know how to drive, woo-hoo!

Veronica Mars that comes on after GG is new, but GG is a repeat. I think this is because GG started on Sept 26th, but Veronica Mars didn't start their season until the next week.
