Its sad when any family is in an accident and do hope this Wylie family will be ok.
TAdams we are in the same neighborhood and it is unbeliveable how difficult it is to cross Bethany. I hope the speeders slow down soon. School starts August 7th.

That will happen only when "Allen's finest" decide to do something about it. And, based on what I've seen in my dozen years in this city, that ain't gonna happen.

Its not a problem with the police, its the courts. There are too many loopholes in the laws that need to be plugged.

I drive my way to the DART Parker station every day, I go down Angel Parkway all the way to the highway that eventually becomes Parker street. It is not unusual to see Parker Police officers ticketing speeders. And trust me it has worked, every body is driving around 45 mph.

Right you are. You can't hardly drive through Parker without seeing their officers actually doing their job. Boy, what a concept! And, like you said ..... it works.
I wish the Allen and Plano police departments would get a clue.
I also understand RayW's point that there are problems with courts. However, unless the police do something, there is nothing for the courts to mess up.

The only problem I have with that is if speeding becomes a high priority issue, it will also become a headache as well. Stopping speeding is a good thing, as long as it's really speeding. I can't stand when cops spend time nailing people for going 42 in a 40. lol

We all know that if you drive 42 in a 40 you're gonna get run over, or you're gonna get tailgated, or flipped off. I drive McDermott every day to my job in west Plano. The speed limit is 45. I drive 45, and get my doors blown off by people passing on both sides.
In the past I've even called the Allen PD, asking for help. The officer I spoke with at the time told me he didn't think speeding was a problem in Allen, and they had more important things to focus on. My first response was that if he couldn't find the speeders, I'd be glad to ride along with him and point them out for him. My second was shock that he was trying to tell me Allen was a hotbed of criminal activity.

Well it is actually true they have more to respond to here, than the bad drivers (which is still the "86'ers"). The bad drivers are the problem, and I wish more people would help in reprimanding these drivers (but I understand most people would prefer to avoid any backlash).
Also true that Parker can monitor Parker Road (my old home), and Sprinhill Estates, resulting in more aware drivers. But Parker isn't answering all the calls Allen is...YET, haha.

Hmmm - The last statistic I heard was that 1 in 7 cars on the road in Texas has a gun in it so be careful who you reprimand

Your point is well taken, and some of them do respond violently. And I appreciate the drivers that are frustrated (about the yahoos) yet restrain themselves and keep driving. I'll keep shaking my finger at them, but not the same one they show me

Right you may be - left lane on city streets as far as i know is not designated for passing only as they are on the highways. So for me, MOVE OVER
