DS will need a big boy bed soon. We have looked at Stacy's Kid's furniture shop, Pottery Barn Kids, USA Baby and Small Fry World. I haven't looked at Rooms to Go Kids yet but I am leary about their quality.Although, I know they are supposed to carry Stanley Young America which is good quality. We want soemthing that will last but don't want to pay a fortune! 500.00 to 600.00 doesn't sound unreasonable but 800.00 ala PBK is a bit much! Any other places we should try? I am going to try Ritzy Kids too but just going by the name...makes me think they are going to be really expensive. Thanks!
I think my big frustation is that most places only have a few floor models and then they refer to a catalog or website. I want to "see" it before I buy it!!!

Check out Weirs on Preston just south of Legacy. I bought a bedroom set for my daughter at Rooms-2-go about 3 years ago so far it's held up pretty well. Some of the paint chipped off of the desk but I was able to have it matched, I painted it and since then it's held up well.

Don't know if their beds are too girly, but my youngest daughter's bed is from Pier 1 and older daughter's bed is from Bombay Company (not Bombay Kids). Both are wonderful quality and didn't cost a fortune.

Ikea opens in Frisco in August. They have really fun kids stuff, and it's very inexpensive.

Yes, I saw a recent news story, on IKEA. I didn't know who/what they were, haha. But it looks like a fun place to go, even if you're not huntin' colorful furniture.

Ahh, what memories.....
Depending on your budget and what other furniture you need, you can get out for close to a song by buying a Hollywood bed frame and a good mattress for it. Then you can do something creative with shelving, paint, bulletin board, etc etc etc for headboard.
When my sons were little, we bought the upper part only of a very sturdy freestanding bunk bed. It had a small matching dresser that fit under it. All the rest of the floor space under the bed was still wide open for toy chest, or cave games, or fort games, or hide and seek, or....
Very accessible for cleaning or dragging reluctant boys out of hiding, also.
Have fun!!!!!!
