If you're looking for a boys haircut place and the child doesn't need all the frills of a kids place I recommend taking him to Rods located at Main St. and Greenville (the East side) located in the same shopping center as Brookshires and Sherman Williams Paint store behind the Papa Johns. I have two boys, one that only gets flat tops. I like his really short and I looked for several years for a place. I used to take him either to Richardson or Arlington for his haircut but finally heard about Rod's. Rod did a super job and I noticed that all the guys there do really good boys cuts. It's an old fashion Barber shop. Something you don't see anymore in this day and age. Try them out.

I agree that Rods is a great barbershop, I have been going there for about 10 years. Ask for Rod or Kenny.

Thanks. I have an appt. at The Kid's Salon on Friday. I will keep Rod's in mind for the future when my son doesn't need all the bells and whistles.

The Kid Salon is wonderful. It's very clean and they've done a great job with my daughter's hair. I think the owner and her employees came from Cool Cuts for Kids, which was almost impossible to get in on a Saturday. I think I pay around $15 (including a shampoo). They also have a private back room for special needs children.

I used to think I had to take my boys to those "fancy" kid places for their haircuts until one lady butchered my oldest son's hair and told me he did it to himself. I was furious. I've been going to Rod's ever since. And, my youngest two boys both got their first haircuts there and even received a "first haircut" certificate and they let me keep a lock of their hair. I let my boys choose who cuts their hair and they always choose Rod or Kenny. My oldest one goes to Rod and the younger two like Kenny. I think all the barbers in there do a good job though.

We've been the The Kid Salon three times now. My daughter had shoulder length hair and got a pixie cut. Danitra did a great job! My daughter loves it! We have also gone to Rod's for my son and Kenny and Rod are great! We haven't been in a while since my son decided to grow out his hair. But I do like that TKS is just down the street.
