Do you fry or steam those kinks? Haven't had a good one since my mom passed.

Are 'kinks' a southern specialty I haven't heard of yet? hmmm . . .
Glad to hear they are opening next week. I drove by there earlier today and was wondering whether or not they were open yet. Is this a chain restaurant? I haven't heard of it before.

Yes, they're an Oklahoma company as I understand. I don't know if you get chain with your kinks, but you do get openings with the Chain. Sorry, kinda tired.

Gee, Denise, maybe it was a typo. A "skink" is a common lizard, you know....

I did see a skink yesterday while on a walk with my youngest son over at Connemara . . . We also saw cricket frogs, spiders, squirrels and other small critters on our walk. Like the other people who posted here, I'm still trying to figure out what a 'kink' is . . . But, looking forward to the opening of another restaurant - like we go out to eat a lot - ha!

Was kink the wrong term??...sorry. I meant when any new resturant opens things are a little bumpy the first week or so.
Del rancho is family owned resturant. There are 26 in Oklahoma. First one opened almost 50 years ago. They are known for there chicken fried steak sandwiches and dinners. We do have 2 LCD TV's we will playing sports events from although we do not serve beer. I can not tell you much more because we do not advertise on Allenonline yet. Come by and check us out. We've got a chicken fried steak sandwich with YOUR name on it.
Civic (Your post below) The sound on the TV's will not be turned on.
I would appreciate if people would post there comments/experience when they try it out on here. I would love to know what people think!

I'm looking forward to the one with my name on it, and can tolerate a few kinks early on (boiled, fried, or baked). This patron doesn't like TV's at restaurants, so probably will not actually dine in on a regular basis, unless I can be far from the TV, haha.

wilnix16 - You know, we all like to have a little fun here at Allen Online. Someone made a funny about 'kinks' (or skinks) and we just ran with it. We really are happy about another restaurant opening here in Allen. We do understand what you were saying about getting things to run smooth - it sometimes takes a little while after opening before things start to run efficiently.

I started cooking at age 8 just so I could chew and swallow the food. I never learned to cook kinks or shoe leather like mom could.

Did your mom have to throw out the pan with the food too? Hubby says we can't afford for me to cook.

OK, I guess I'm the first one here to try DR and post about it.... I was driving home today and started to stop into Sonic when I remembered DR was open for business today, so I stopped in there instead. I went throught the drive-thru, which is pretty cool. There are about 6 lanes open (Sonic Style with the individual menus for each car) and you push the button and place your order. Then when your food is ready they will come on the speaker and tell you to drive up to the window- pretty cool. There's nothing I hate more than ordering a drink (or frosty) in the drive thru and having to wait for everyone ahead of me to get their food made... Anyway, I tried the Steak Supreme Sandwich, which they are "famous for" according to the sign... They didn't offer it in a combo, so I had to get some mashed potatoes a'la cart, and opted for no drink, as the sandwich and 'taters was already $8! The guy in the drive thru window was very friendly...So, I brought the food home. The sandwich was huge, and the taste was ok, nothing extraordinary. The potatoes were ok too. The portion was huge, compared to like KFC potatoes, and the gravy was pretty tasty. But the actual potatoes were obviously from a powder mix- it just had that taste. The gravy they were smothered in made them taste alright, and I was pretty hungry so I ate em up. Will I go back? Probably, one more time to try a burger. I hate to knock off a place just cause I wasn't wowed by one meal.... Hope you all enjoy it.

We made it in, and I gotta tell ya folks, this place should do well. The Menu variety should suit many, and I like the table phones. I've only seen that in two other Chains before and it's kinda fun.
Just to give them the best try, we had the "signature" sandwich they're known for. Hang on to your napkins kids, 'cause this guy doesn't brag on many eateries. I really liked that huge steak sandwich! The staff was friendly too, and that matters to me. "I shall return" (but without getting my feet wet, haha).

Okay. I went today after work, too. I absolutely LOVE CFS. I order it no matter WHERE I go, and seldom ever order anything else. I have been dying to try the CFS sandwich. I also ordered the specialty, steak sandwich. I have to say, it was GREAT! I LOVED the taste, the size, the flavor. It was a bit messy and hard to hold on to. I was afraid to set it down for fear I couldn't pick it back up. I was disappointed there was also no combo. And I opted for it to go as well because I didn't want to pay for a drink on top of the rest. I also ordered rings. I like onion rings, but am very picky. I like them thin. These were too wide and thick. I loved the taste of the batter, however. Will I go back, ya darn tootin'. I can get a hamburger and most of the rest of their menu anywhere, but not a CFS sandwich. The supreme was $5.09 if I remember. In my opinion, worth every penny. It was well worth the wait for them to open.

We too tried Del Rancho tonight. I was quite weary when I pushed the button in the drive thru, was asked to hold on, and then sat there for 15 minutes before I pushed the button again. I did receive a sincere apology, which I appreciate. There were only 5 other cars in my area, so I didnt understand the hold up. As far as the drive thru thing, I didnt understand what to do if my order gets done before the guy in front of me. At one point all three of the back positions were occupied, with no one in the front positions - the cars behind us were getting angry that we didnt pull forward, but we couldnt until the speaker person told us our food was done. I did count 8 cars that left without ordering while I was waiting - which is too bad. I got the feeling it was over the prices. 3 steak sandwiches 1 order of tots and 1 cheese fry cost $25! My sandwiches were warm, but definitely NOT hot. I dont buy that they were making them to order as they claim because I saw several made up on the counter through the drive in window and mine was definitely not just from the fryer.
The food was good, and the steak sandwich was HUGE! The prices are just much more in line with a Black Eyed Pea or other sit down restaurant than a fast food restaurant.
I have no doubt that they will succeed and do well once the aforementioned "kinks" are worked out. I will be curious to see if they maintain those prices.
I recommend ya'll give 'em a try!

I did the drive-thru with my daughters on our way home. We spent about 20 minutes there (and 3 miles of gas). I put their phone number in my cell phone while waiting, but did not get a good impresssion when I pulled up to the window so I don't think I'll be going back. Just a hint, when a customer pulls up and holds out their credit/debit card, the proper response is NOT "Oh gosh!"
My daughter's (M's) burger was burnt. Her little sister (E) had a bag of Teddy Grahams in her meal, but M did not. Any of you with more than one kid know that that made for an unhappy M.
As far as pricing, I spent $19+ for 1 chicken strip combo, med. lemonade and 2 kids meals. I could have gone to Tin Star or Bennigans and gotten a better deal (and better/more chicken strips)! Oh, and $3.99 for a kids meal is over-priced for this market.
Ya'll let me know if the prices go down and the service gets better. And if anyone is going to give my daughter a burnt hamburger, it will be me.

First Impression: Slow, and expensive!
I went last night about 7pm and waited roughly about 8 minutes for some one to acknowledge my button press. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad @ $6.99 (that's it) and it took another 15 minutes for the go ahead (drive up to window).
The salad was very small (compared to Chili's)...and the taste was okay. Also, not enough dressing for the salad. I do think the grilled chicken was very tasty though.
Serivce: 1 out of 5 <-- contribute this to opening day! Taste: 2 out of 5 Portion: 3 out of 5 Price: 2 out of 5 <-- Same price at Chili's yields a larger salad with better taste/flavor
Will I go back: Maybe?
My $0.02 worth.

We went here for lunch today. We went inside and ate. Completely different experience than from what I've heard in the drive thru. The service was terrific, the food was hot, fresh and good and the price was about $25 (after tip)- DH had steak sandwich and liked it- it was HUGE, I had chopped BBQ sand and it was great, kid had kids chicken strip meal and ate it all. We'll be back, but definitely inside, at least until the drive thru has a chance to get ironed out.

I think they're at 719 E. Main St. I would say they're between an auto parts thingy and a dollar kinda store.
