Thanks to all of you who were out doing the rain dance or washing your cars the last few days! There is even another chance for rain later in the week. Hopefully, this is just the beginning to the end of a drought.
Remember, even though we're getting rain today we still need to conserve water. Refrain from watering your landscape/lawns and only water your foundation and large trees every couple of weeks. Water is not needed as frequently in the winter as it doesn't evaporate as quickly when it is cool/cold. Conserve water indoors by doing full loads of laundry and dishes. Try shortening the length of time you're in the shower and still can get clean and don't let the water run while brushing your teeth. Also check out the City of Allen Water Rebate Program for a list of appliances and products to help you conserve water and how to receive a rebate for the purchase of those products.

I'm not complaining. We need the rain. Have you been out to look at the water level at Lake Lavon recently? It is a very sad sight to see it so low.

Gotta bring this back up to the top. This weekly rain is sure saving me money. Glad it is raining again. Still no complaints here, except I was planning on working in my front yard today to move a few plants, but that can wait until Monday when it dries out a bit. Now I have time today to do some cleaning on the inside of my house.
