If you haven't heard of this movie, don't worry not many have. I've been waiting for this to come out since I first saw the trailer last year, it never came to theaters here so I had to wait for the DVD version and it was WELL worth it.
It's a Korean movie about the Korean war, as seen from the perspective of the Korean people. It shows the atrocities and brutality of war, warts and all. It's NOT a kid friendly movie but a grown up movie (older teens should be ok to see this, IMO) that is NOT to be missed. Powerful performances by the two lead actors, Hollywood quality special effects, numerous combat scenes that are fairly graphic and incredible soundtrack. It's definitely an emotional movie. I was very happy to see that Blockbuster had this movie in store last week when it was released to DVD, rent it and watch it with subtitles on as the dubbing causes you to lose a lot of the effect of the movie IMO. The dubbed voices sound a bit too 'happy' for the dialogue in many of the scenes.
I really can't speak highly enough of this movie, I think it was even better than Saving Private Ryan. You can see more about the movie, including the trailer at the site below. Definitely a rental not to miss.
