I was out spraying the broadleaf weeds this weekend, trying to keep them in check before they start to spread.
Then I saw it--poa anna, Annual Bluegrass. The bane of my existence. It was starting to creep into my backyard from underneath the back fence. Time to spray with IMAGE. Get it at HD, Lowe's, or even Wal Mart. Same price at all three, give or take a buck.
I know that this is not organic, and to the true gardners of the group--I apologize, but it must be eradicated.
If you have a bermuda grass lawn, chances are anything green will be a weed. Yes, you may have a couple of blades that are green, if they face the south and get lots of sunlight. That's okay. But if you have some clumps of dark green "kinda looks like grass" stuff, I'd bet it's annual bluegrass.
It'll take about a month to kill it, because it works through the root systems, not the leaves. But it is the only product I've used that effectively kills annual bluegrass.
Happy spraying.
