So do they come out with the shredders in the truck or do they just collect your boxes of paper?
Yes I am paranoid, but I am always afraid that if I don't personally see my paper being destroyed right in front of me, later they will appear at a dumpster somewhere in the metroplex.
The truck they drove had the shredder on the back. And let me tell you, it was a shredder! They dumped a whole trashbag-full (which was actually put in a box at their request) into the shredder and the sound didn't change. No dragging or slowing down of the motor. I stood and watched without issue.
I'm the same way about watching what's being shredded. Also, there was a mirror above the shredder which allowed us to see down into the shredder, I'm assuming, just to make sure we could clearly see the operator not taking anything...
