I have heard that one of the other schools in Allen has an 8th Grade Graduation Celebration - the school that my son attends does not have this. I think that would be some interesting to haave.
If this is so, Does any know why all the schools do not participate in an 8th Grade Graduation Celebration?

Technically there is no such thing as "graduation" until they graduate from high school. My daughter attends Ford and they do have an eighth grade celebration. Many schools also have 6th grade celebrations but they aren't official either. Are you sure they aren't planning anything for the eighth graders at your child's school?

The only thing I know of that they do is the 8th Graders go to Six Flags every year.

I think most 8th graders would much prefer a Six Flags trip than a "celebration" - at least I know my daughter would! When my son was at Ford, they did nothing special for the end of 8th grade (that I recall at least - it's been several years ago).

The communications (at least as filtered through my kid) for the Ford "celebration" were pretty vague. We only found out the time this week. I saw something in the papers from Ford that made me think that it might be for all the middle schools (something like "Ford is hosting ...").
Two plus two equals five, for sufficiently large values of two.

Ereckson had there 8th grade celebration on Tuesday. It was kind of like a field day.
The only kids that went to Six Flags (I think today) were in Choir, Band and Orchestra.

I guess all schools are different, just thought since this was Allen (not that big of a place) and only 3 middle schools they would do things about the same.
My friend was just asking me and my supervisors grandson goes to school in Celina and they made this very big thing about it - the girls dressed up and boys wore ties, the kids were received rewards for numerous things, like: attendence, best grade, if they did exceptional on TAK and a lot of other things - it just seemed really neat and the whole family was there to honor their child - this was something done at night not during the day. I just thought it sounded really cool.
The more I thought about it, if I was in the 8th grade I know I would have been totally cool with going to Six Flags - when I was in the 8th grade it was during the bussing in Dallas and I had to miss the last couple of the last days of school due to rioting and threats made - my middle school years were not fun.
