Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts have already been knocking on doors asking Allen residents to support their activities by purchasing popcorn or making a military donation so popcorn can be sent overseas to our troops. The money earned by the scouts helps pay for camping, awards, field trips and other scout activities.
If you choose to support us by making a donation to have popcorn sent to our military overseas, here is a testament that they really do appreciate your donations as much as our scouts do. This was sent to me from the person coordinating popcorn sales for our district.

Last year I was selling popcorn with my pack and encouraged folks to do the popcorn donations for the Troops. Well, this year I am over here in Afghanistan munching on those donations with my unit. I will verify that the troops over here appreciate the popcorn!!! I think that we received six cases last week and they are all finished! There is nothing left but empty cans, which we put to use storing stuff in our berthing area. By the time the next round of donations make it over here, I will be back home, so I am not being self serving in asking that the folks back home take advantage of this opportunity.

So, please support our scouts by either buying a can of popcorn or box of microwave popcorn or make a donation for our military. FYI - They have taken all peanuts out of the popcorn products this year.
