Anyone have a good recipe for pear butter? I made apple butter yesterday, and now I have a hankering to make pear butter. I have a recipe for it, but I am wondering if there is one out there that might sound even tastier.

Not quite pear butter, but sometimes, when there are lots of spare pears out there, I make a batch of gingered pear sauce and freeze small batches to be hauled out later. If you just cooked it longer, you'd have ginger pear butter.
The main ingredients are pears (surprise!) and ground ginger. Depending on how it smells while it is cooking, and how good the pears were to start with, I add small amounts of sugar, salt, and sometimes cinnamon.

Oh, that sounds good! The recipe I have uses sugar, grated orange rind, orange juice and nutmeg. Maybe I should add some ginger to that. And a little cinnamon. Haha I really never actually follow recipes exactly!

What fun would it be to follow them exactly? Yours sounds luscious too. I think my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The ginger/pear has a very clean fresh taste that I like, but now I'm thinking I'd like to try your recipe....

I figure I will kind of go by that and add a little cinnamon and ginger. It sounds so yummy!
If you haven't ever been to that website before, there are TONS of great recipes, and the rest of the site is entertaining too!

I think all of that sounds good. I would be likely to toss a pinch of freshly ground nutmeg in there too.
I looked at that website. There is a lot of neat stuff there!
