I know that Andrews Distributing bought land over there a couple years ago to build a new Distribution Center. Maybe they are finally putting shovel to ground.

Great!
Probably more upscale than Studio Movie Grill theaters. Why knock it. May be your piece of heaven if you ever gave it chance. According to the braggarts, Collin county is not doing bad. Someone out there may want that special treatment every once in awhile.

If a movie costs that much in heaven, I'll stick to Purgatory (and I'm not even Catholic).

So I looked a little more into the theatre offering. It looks like it will have the latest in 3D technology and sound. There will be about 44 seats per theatre, all seats are large, fully recline lazy boy type seats. Each set of two has a table between them. Servers are available for drinks and food.
The price is just under double that of AMC for 3D (used Avatar as an example, $22 vs $12.50). I guess the idea is you are paying $9.50 to not have a bunch of teenagers around you making noise...to have a waiter serve dinner rather than wait in line for snacks...drink adult beverages rather than soda...and fall asleep in a very comfortable chair that will most likely not have gum on the seats.
This is probable not for the Sunday matinee crowd, but if you are on a date with your spouse and want dinner and a movie without 200 other folks, it may be worth the extra $10 per.
My verdict is still out, but I can definitely see the benefits. Just the teenager aspect alone would have me willing to possibly part with an extra $19 for my wife and I.

Yeah, that is better. They even had a special online where you got Dinner and a Movie for $40 each, or $80 per couple. If the food is good, that is not a bad deal. We will easly spend $50 for dinner then blow $30 at a movie on tickets and popcorn, drinks and the inevitable m&m's for my wife.

Time will tell. I still think the Fairview side vastly overshoots the area's demographics (overall, not just the theater), much like Watters Creek.

Do they offer alarm clocks as well? Putting my husband and me in recliners with food and drink and a movie is a sure fire way to put us to sleep.
That would be embarrassing.

Excellent selected establishments for those that chose to partake.
I've experienced it since 1959 in this NTarea. which has been building non stop. Rain or shine. So we are experiencing it here. I would rather have some upscale caliber shopping and dining and entertainment in the vicinity.
Why all the fuss?

I completly agree. I don't think many people truly realize the amount of people who live in Allen/McKinney/Fairview/e tc that shop and dine in the Plano or Dallas because they want the options. I think the Fairview/Allen complex is trying to offer options to both the department store shopper and the boutique shopper.....both the chain rest. diner and the unique rest. diner.
I think this is well planned and some people will be surprised at the success. I am hoping anyway.

Looks like a gym and a couple of office spaces according to the site plan. You really have to zoom in to read it.

That site plan is fairly out of date and has changed a good bit. I hope it really is a gym though, nice location.

According to your description of the land site, it is phase three Allen Station Business Park. You can refer to the archived zoning plat discussion in the December zoning commission meeting.

Just an FYI, the Dillards on the Fairview side opened satuday. We stopped by to check it out. Nice store, first floor has a variety of departments and second was all ladies. Much bigger than the Macys or JCP. Nothing was on sale. They said the sales would start on their grand opening which I think is the 8th, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

There are so many restaurants on this corner now, I often wonder how they will all stay in business.
Bistro Baubisan
Guy Harvey Island Grill
Purple Cow
Russo's NY Pizzeria
Twisted Root Burger
Bailey's Prime Plus Steakhouse
Cyclone Anaya's Mexican Kitchen
Gloria's
La Duni Latin Kitchen & Coffee Studio
Ocean Blue
Patrizio
Cowboy Chicken
Dodie's Place Sports Grill
Freebirds
Mooyah Burgers & Fries
Tacone Flavor Grill
Thai Box
Which Wich?
BJ'S Restaurant & Brewhouse
Braza Dancante
Chaucers
Cheddar's Casual Cafe
Nate's Seafood & Steakhouse
Olive Garden
Uncle Julio's
That is 25, and I am sure a missed a few.
I do wish them all much success.

Hello mgrayer, Dillard's Grand Opening is Wednesday March 10th. They will have several days from the 10th -13th with events. During the soft opening the store hours will vary.
Also my guess is in preparation of the Grand Opening tomorrow. The website has been updated with all new links, store information, property information, new events such as 2nd Saturday concerts and movies on the lawn similar to Watters Creek and a new map of the development. The new website is much more impressive than the old one.
