VFW Post 2195 Allen, TX will host a fish fry to raise funds to support the December homecoming celebration for the 3/124th Cav, Texas National Guard (Wiley) on Saturday, November 14 from 2 PM to 6 PM. The unit will welcome home its members who will be completing a tour of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. These citizen soldiers are our friends and neighbors.

The fish fry will be held at the Reel Thing Catfish Café, Allen, TX. The menu offers a variety of seafood, fried and grilled, and BBQ. Post members will be assisting the wait staff to deliver meals to the tables. Lt Calvin Spann, Tuskegee Airman, famed WWII Fighter pilot and VFW Post 2195 member will be signing autographs.

The Reel Thing will contribute 15% of monies raised to support the homecoming.

Please call the Reel Thing, 972-390-2438, to make your reservations.

Very cool! As a Patriot Guard Rider, I too have welcomed home returning members from the Wylie unit. And I've also met Calvin (Allen Library event). Let's help this local VFW Post in this effort. The Post helps Allen in several capacities.

Thanks for sharing the opportunity.

We will stream the event live on the internet. A DJ in Florida has volunteered to provide musical entertainment and he will be taking song request from those in attendance.

Call 972-396-5000 for stream access.

VFW Post 2195 and the Reel Thing would like to thank Allen and surrounding communities for supporting the fund raiser for Wylie National Guard personnel returning from Afghanistan and Iraq in December.

The long standing military tradition of "taking care of our own" was embraced by all that attended.

A post will be made later in the week that will provide information that will permit us to make donations to further assist deployed Wylie guard personnel and their families. Returning personnel are being replaced by other members of the unit that will deploy in the near future.
