Many of us get used to having the same things on our Thanksgiving menu. I made a couple new things this year that were super easy and really delicious. Here are the recipes so you can try them too.

Butternut Squash with Orange Glaze
Two small butternut squash (or acorn or other sweet type of squash)
1 small jar orange marmalade
1 stick butter

Cut the squash length-wise and clean out the seeds. Place in baking dish with water and bake at 375 until done. Meanwhile, add marmalade and butter to saucepan. Heat until melted and bubbly. Remove squash from oven and use a spoon out the flesh into a casserole dish. Spoon marmalade mixture over squash and return to the oven to bake for about 20 minutes until bubbly. Serve hot.

Corn and Sausage Dressing
1 box cornbread dressing mix (like Stove Top)
1 lb. sausage (I used the hot turkey sausage, removed the meat from the casings)
1 bag frozen corn with onions and peppers

Brown sausage and drain. Prepare cornbread dressing according to directions. Add dressing and bag of corn to meat and mix well. Spoon into casserole dish and bake until hot.

Try these dishes. They are both delicious and would be good as part of any meal not just for the holidays.

We had lots of new things.

Appetizers

Hogs in a sleeping bag
Gooey Mozarella Garlic Bread

Side Dishes

Fried Corn
Fried Potatoes with Bacon and Onion

Desserts

Holiday Double Peanut Butter Fudge Cookies
Toffee Chocolate Peanut Clusters
Kolacky
Sweet Potatoe Pie made with a new recipe

I also made some minor modifications to the cornbread dressing. So it wasn't new just cooked in a different way.

Everybody was stuffed and happy.
