Just bought a Nikon D40 DSLR. Was thinking of taking some photo courses at CCCC. Has anyone taken photo courses there and could recommend some?
Thanks

While the courses I take there have not included photog stuff, I'm sure they would be helpful. I kinda want to get better educated myself on taking pics, and have thought about classes too.

Here's an idea I often share here, as it might help as one alternative. Locals may recall the once popular FunEd business that listed many continuing Ed subjects for Metroplex residents. Of course local colleges do this as well. But FunEd, while no longer around, can produce instructors. Try a search and see if any links come up for various instructors in your subject need.

I have not taken any photography classes at Collin College, but the guy who cuts my hair has. He just had an interest in it so he started taking introductory classes. Send me a pm if you would like to speak with him.
Also, if you go to www.ratemyprofessor.com and type in "collin college', then scroll to "photography" you can read what students have to say about the instructors. That way you may be able to determine what class might be fun and interesting. Hope this helps somewhat.

Not all the professors are on ratemyprofessor.com so you can also check out www.pickaprof.com

In addition to the the classes at CCCC, I highly recommend the Pano Photography Club as almost free resource for improving your camera skills. The monthly meetings always have interesting speakers, they have monthly photo contests, and group photo activities. When I was a member, I attended wonderful workshops and model shoots.

Thanks for that website! My daughter goes to Collin College and after having a horrific instructor for English, she now uses these websites to find ones that students recommend. It definitely helps the grade point average with the right teacher.

Thanks for all the replies. I am going to look at taking a couple of courses at CCCC next semester.
