This doesn't really belong here (and the webmaster may move it) but I thought more people would see it here. I happened to see Oprah today and the topic was the new reality show Undercover Boss.
The COO of Waste Management went undercover cleaning toilets and picking up trash. (Then got fired!)
Also the CEO of 711 worked the night shift at one of the stores. It was really interesting, funny, and inspirational. Premiers after the Super Bowl Sunday. Maybe take a look!

The following week will feature the Hooters CEO.
We sittin' here, I'm supposed to be a franchise player....and we in here talkin' 'bout PRACTICE?

I watched the episode after the Super Bowl and thought it was great! Is it going to air on Sundays, or will it be on a different night? I would really like to see more of this show.

I loved it! I am not sure when it will air during the week from now on.
Next week the CEO of Hooters goes undercover and the previews have a manager making the girls play "reindeer" so they can go home early. I think he gets fired.
I just love that this is about the little people who work so hard and finally management is taking notice. I hope it makes it into another season.

I guess the show with the Hooters CEO was on last night. I missed it--was watching the Olympics, but caught a segment on the Channel 11 news that mentioned one of the restaurants he visited was in the DFW area. I hope that wasn't the manager with the "reindeer games"!

All three were in the DFW area. No, the one on channel 11 was a different one. And that manager didn't get fired (as I felt he should have). He apologized to the girls and was "retrained".

If anyone thinks this isn't staged they are kidding themselves.

There is not a corporate brand manager alive that would let you see the back end operations of a company much less any imperfections in the process.

The Hooters manager fiasco was about as stupid as they come. Bubba redneck manager humiliating employees. Somebody set that CEO up (somebody who worked for his dad and is not too happy how junior is running the show) or there are so many Bubba redneck managers in the Hooters organization that he found one on the second day of his undercover operations.

Even look at the Waste Management episode - the CEO needs to drive the bottom line. He did not get to the top adding cost to the process. Yes, some of the processes needed to be changed, but the bottom line is cut costs and maximize shareholder value.

It's all theater.

I haven't seen the show, but I agree with DTF. Also, how do they explain the cameras being there? How do the employees not recognize the CEO, especially the managers?

Watch the show then come back and comment.

All of that is explained. Also, when you work for a large company based somewhere else, most people don't know what the CEO looks like. They also changed their appearance quit a bit. You would be surprised how much different a man looks going from a suit to jeans and a t-shirt or polo.

That was a good article. Yes, it is a reality t.v. show and they probably do tweak it to make it more interesting. I know if the CEO of my husband's company came around, no one would recognize him on the front lines as the picture they have seen of him must be 10 years old.

Given that the cameras are hard to defend to those people, I have learned alot from watching the show. I especially liked the Church Hill Downs show. I never knew any of the things they filmed about the back of the track and all that goes on. I just take the show for what it's worth. It's entertaining in my opinion.
