My burgers were charred beyond recognition. I ordered them medium and well done would have beeen fine but all I could taste was burnt.
I think we'll go again, if only to have drinks and see a movie.

You'd think for the prices they are charging for the food, they'd have it down better to where they weren't over done, that and everyone's comments about the portions being very small.
It sounds like they're at least keeping the theaters small which will be easier to fill than if they were large theaters. Everyone complains now about theater ticket prices at the regular theater, so I don't know how well this will do once the novelty fades. Didn't make it to the mock service and it doesn't seem like a place I'd go out of my way to see a movie at. I watch a ton of movies but mostly wait for them to come to DVD as I think most movies today aren't worth the price of admission. lol

Am I missing something? Yes this is coming from someone who has NOT visited this location yet. I'm curious from those that have experienced GCC how they compare it to SMG.....

The tickets are really on $17.50 and I think the sliders were the highest item on the menu.

My Chicken Picatta sandwich was a good size. It was cut into three manageable sections. There was a lot of bread, but it was good (grilled ciabatta) bread.
I don't know if anyone posted the menu, but here it is:

I checked the price of tickets for Iron Man 2 at 7pm on Sunday and they are:
Internet Gold Class: $29
Internet GoldClass Member: $22
Apparently the membership is "free".

I've done SMG, and in terms of seating and in-theater experience, they hardly compare - GCC is easily worth the price premium IMO. The seating itself, for example, isn't even in the same league.
Now, as for the food, it may get more interesting. The chicken picatta sandwich was probably worth the cost to me, but the Wagyu sliders were not. Honestly, I'm OK with paying $11 for a sandwich if it's really good. I won't pay that much for something that a teenager stuck into a microwave.
I know that GCC doesn't want people to do this, but, there are really two ways to look at this business: (1) Dining and entertainment destination or (2) Entertainment only (though I'd include drinks or "movie food", e.g. popcorn here). Obviously, GCC wants everyone to do (1), but with so many good dining choices nearby, they're going to have to be hitting them out of the park regularly to keep that business going.
Option (2), on the other hand, has a much more broad appeal IMO. My wife and I would go there just for the fabulously comfortable seating, small theater size and "escape" from children etc. Pretty much, for movies that aren't "native" digital nor 3D, GCC has probably got our business. The food side may take some more convincing.
Folks, we're talking about a Mercedes or BMW movie experience here. Are those vehicles "worth the premium" over a Chevrolet or Buick? Millions of owners think so. Many more think not. Variety is what makes the world go around.
Continuing the car analogy, just as a side note, I personally consider the Cinemarks up here in the "north side" (Legacy, Tollway, Allen) to be at least Buicks, Studio Movie Grill is probably still a Buick, but a different model :) and GCC is clearly a Benz or BMW as previously stated.
I drive a Ford and prefer GCC; make of that what you will. :)

I have been interested in the projector issue, here is what the website says;
Gold Class Cinema shows the top new commercial movie releases and blockbusters in the latest digital projection, including RealD 3D, with super-wide screens and digital sound. Most Gold Class Cinemas are the size of a standard 150 seat movie theater, however, with 40 or less seats. The difference is a fully reclining plush chair and slightly lighted table for your food and drink. Gold Class provides an intimate, gold-standard experience; it’s like watching a movie in a private screening room.

Joe, The Austin location shows $22 for that same show, did you accidentally choose that?
By the way, the Austin location showed a ton of sold out shows. They seem to be doing well.

Yeah, I think you accidentally hit the Austin theater because that's the prices they show.
The Fairview one shows:
Internet GoldClass Member: $17.50
Internet Gold Class: $29
And I was not logged in. I think that's why it showed both prices.

The Inwood Theater also has oversized leather seats (not reclining though) with tables in between some of them. Tickets are a LOT cheaper.

Yes, I guess I accidentally selected the Austin theater for the $22 tickets. But even when I select the Fairview theater it still gives me the selection of the $18.50 or $30 tickets, which is the same as when I did not log on with my account. What's up with this?
