I have the hardest time finding a part time nanny for my 3 kiddos...so I have to look into daycare options. Any recommendations in Alma/Mcdermott area.
Thanks,Agnes

Primrose of W Allen has some MAJOR state violations in the last couple of years, including:

"Three children were left unsupervised. They wandered out of the center into the parking lot and the street."

"The director did not show good judgment when they decided to keep the daycare entrance door opened because it was hot inside the center. The double doors were open and the toddlers classroom door was opened too to circulate the air. The incident that placed the children in highly dangerous situation was a consequence of the door being open."
We sittin' here, I'm supposed to be a franchise player....and we in here talkin' 'bout PRACTICE?

The website that the State of Texas uses to communicate to the public the names of the daycares (whether they are daycare centers, daycare homes such as listed, registered, or licensed) is www.dfps.state.tx.us. That is where the inspection reports can be found on each legal daycare center or home as well. There is a group of childcare providers in this area that have a website as well. It is www.pickofnorthtexas.com Hope this will help you to find what you are looking for!

I know & I read about them. None of the violations personally made me feel like my kids are in danger. They seemed to be violations that have been corrected since. I think if the violations were things like they let kids walk out the front door, unattended ina van or a teacher was violent to the children then I would be more concerned. I am concerned about the violations but I also know the women that watch my children. I have gone through many daycares that had no violations but should have had some. As a Mom this is still my recommendation. Thanks for checking into them.

Perspective is important, too...from the TX DPFS site regarding Primrose West Allen:

Two Year Compliance Summary
During the last two years, 1069 standards were evaluated for compliance at this operation. Of the standards evaluated 4 deficiencies were cited.

I doubt allen actually has any interaction with these schools or understands what actually goes into running them. To err is human, but how you deal with the mistakes and move to prevent them in the future is what matters.

Kids R Kids of Allen-West is a wonderful center. My son attended there last school year.

The staff and management are both just top notch. The kids were always laughing, and playing, and anxious to go to school--a great sign.

My son is now in Kindergarten, and if I could, I would continue to have him go there.

The facility is neat, and always smells clean and fresh.

Thanks.
