Issues
I will serve you and our community with a primary focus in these three area:
Fiscal Responsibility: This is where you can count on me the most. As a Certified Public Accountant, the only one on the Council, you know that I will measure every decision based on the city’s short and long term ability to pay. Services will be provided in a cost efficient manner and never sacrifice public safety.

Convention & Tourism: This is a way to bring dollars in from other communities to pay for services in Allen. We have built the facilities including the Allen Event Center. Now it is important to schedule events that will attract maximum attendance so that we build the viability of our retail, restaurants and hotels. I am involved in the marketing to make that happen.

Business Recruitment & Retention: Your Council has remained proactive and aggressive throughout the downturn. We have attracted new investment such as the Cisco development and have grown existing business such as the expansion of Halo and Experian. As the inevitable upturn develops, we are attractive to companies looking for a better place to do business when they consider our economic incentives, no state income tax, great schools, outstanding park system, cultural options, “The Safest City in Texas” designation and the small town atmosphere in Allen, TX.

It has been my honor to serve the Allen community as council person these last three years. I hope you will extend me that honor for the next three years, by voting to re-elect Robin L. Sedlacek on May 8, 2010.

I feel very strongly that fiscal responsibility is the primary area where your council can impact the community. Our planning should be thoughtful, deliberate and long-range thinking. We have lowered the city tax rate for 17 consecutive years and we remain fiscally sound. I support our Strategic Plan as a tool to guide both staff and council from year to year and allow us to work as a team for the betterment of the Allen community.
