These two shows - both on Wednesday nights at ABC - are such a study of contrasts. Both are funny but the characters in Modern Family are so well off and money appears not to be a concern at all to any of them. On the other hand money and the daily grind seem to be the dominating theme in the Middle.
Poor (I'm sure she is doing very well though) Patricia Heaton. She has got typecast into the screaming mom roles.

I like both these shows. I hadn't thought about the contrast between them, but you are right.
Last night EXTRA had one of the gay guys from Modern Family on. (The bigger guy). In real life he is straight. He plays his role very well!
