Can anyone recommend a good local camera shop? I'm getting an error message when I try to use one of my Cannon lenses and need to see about getting it fixed.

Have you disengaged the lenses and then reattached? Sometimes I get an error which means the lenses wasn't locked in right.
Wolf in Richardson/Coit Rd have a good staff.

I've seen that and since I only have one lens that gets the error and I've tried cleaning it per thier instructions and have tried it on multiple cameras, I am sure the problem resides with the lens. Thats why I asked for a good camera shop, however do you think it is best having Cannon service it directly?

Is the problematic lens a Canon lens or a third party lens (i.e. Tamron, Sigma, etc.)?
Did you recently get a new camera? Some 3rd party lenses have issues when new bodies are released.
As a former camera/photo store owner, I would recommend that if a lens needs repair, and if it's a fairly current lens, that you send it directly to the manufacturer. Canon repair service is usually pretty good.
Also, depending upon which lens it is, it may be cheaper to simply replace it. Many of the least expensive Canon lenses fit this category.
Before sending the lens in for estimate/repair, I would try it on another camera body to see if it generates the same error message.
Good luck!
