you know we have a help wanted section, why not a section for people to post resumes and types of positions they are looking for.

What do you think Web?

This is a great suggestion.

I know it was suggested that going through head hunters is the best way to succeed at finding a new job, but I have to tell you, lately, I have visited with a dozen head hunters only to be told there is no work out there and "to hang in there."

Maybe we could start a post for people to put a brief run down of their skills. If you see something that matches a position you know of, you can shoot a tip to that person via pm.

Just a thought in desperate tmes.

I am an executive assistant. I have been working with C level & higher execs. for 15 years.

Unfortunately, I was the victim of "out with the old, in with the new."

Its crazy.

It appears that companies no longer value experience or merit. It all comes down to $$.

Tough:

Here is an idea that may or may not be good.

Many people do not think of universities as employers--they think only of the professoriate, but there is a "2nd world" in the Academy, that of administration.

Universities employ large numbers of administrators...and if one can get into one of those admin jobs, there is a great career for someone.

Our university just hired a lady in her late 50s as the "secretary" of our "school" (collection of departments under a Dean aka "college" at some universities).

She has lots of expereince but none in higher education.

Admittedly, colleges and universities have been hit by the economy, particularly public universities that are having funding cut, yet again, by the state.

Still, there are lots of colleges and universities in the DFW area, and I can tell you, finding a good departmental secretary (really, admin assistant to the Dean and administrator of the "school") is never easy, and a good one is like gold.

Just an idea.

Hello, I am new to the forum and registered just so I could tell you the company I work for is currently looking for an Executive Assistant. Our CIO's admin assistant resigned about 2 weeks ago. The company is Targetbase and located in Irving/Los Colinas. The company is on LinkedIn and we also have an extensive website.
