So I was watching House Hunters International on HGTV yesterday and there was this young couple - probably in their thirties, early forties at the most.

They have four kids and a nice house in Phoenix. They want to buy a vacation home in Fiji and their budget is a half million dollars. They ultimately buy something for like four hundred thousand dollars.

I just looked up fares for a family of six to go to Fiji and it comes to close to seven thousand dollars.

Wow.....I don't know what they do for a living, but I sure chose the wrong field it appears!

Haven't seen that, but I do know some folks that like to hang out at Fiji. I want to visit places like that myself. But if I could buy an expensive home I think I would consider those in Florida, that are a third off now (beach homes on the west coast). But it's interesting, thanks.

The people I work with travel all the time for free or very cheap.. They make that kind of money. Go look at the front cover of Success from home Mag.

Well they had to buy a cheaper house to afford the airfare. Love that show. People also receive inheritances. I'm waiting for mine . . .

Me waitin' too, but can't think of anyone that will leave me anything like that. Maybe we'll benefit from someone like the lady that left her fortune to the town...well, it could happen again.

We'd have to win the lottery to afford places like they show on that television show. But, I don't play lottery . . . gotta save my money.

Don't watch TV shows, but have tried the Lottery. Problem with it (besides the odds) is the Lotto folks forgot to let me win, yet, haha.

Yeah I thought about figuring out how to get one of those houses I mentioned, and sell when things improved...but I'm afraid that is kinda like knowing when the lotto would hit.

Any life in a small town with local businesses, an ocean view, cool breezes is the good life for me. I can get that in Mexico for a fraction of the price. The only downside is my aching face from all the constant smiling.

BTW, I love that show. I think I have 15 episodes recorded on my DVR. Loved Bangkok, St Croix, Portugal and Spain, still waiting for Manila.
I get my news from the Comedy Central and my comedy from Fox News.

The key is not to have what you want, but to want what you have.

Amen - trying my hardest to teach that lesson to my children because if they learn it they will have one of the primary keys to happiness in life.

May I revise a bit?

... not to have what you want, but to be happy with what you have.

Sometimes we may not want what we have. But we can still make the best of the situation regardless. Blessings can be disguised.

Indeed. Once this clicked with me my whole life changed. Interestingly, any "struggle" evaporated and the opportunity doors began opening. It no longer matters what I have or don't have... regardless, I *choose* happiness. And the most amazing thing is you don't have to "do" anything. Just simply change your perspective. It's free and it's easy.

Avoid supplication, choose appreciation.

Good stuff. ; - )
