Does anyone have suggestions on where to find a really REALLY hard to find part?
Well of course after posting here, we found the part in.... Denison!

It was the front mounting bracket for the AC compressor on a 2001 Camaro. Dealership could only 2 in the US. Was sure glad we found one cuz it's hot outside!

Well leave it to my husband to break the one part that's next to impossible to find. I told him he should just start calling around to find another one just in case he manages to break it again! hahahaha..... It's too hot not to have AC in the car!
It was definitely the drive to Denison to get the part. I had a job interview a few days later and was glad not to show up all sweaty.

Just for future reference, many auto salvage yards have computerized inventories, and they can locate parts anywhere in the nation.

I guess they don't like to share that information because I would ask them if they had any suggestions as to who might have it and each one said no. Half the time I couldn't figure out how they knew they didn't have the part without looking it up. I finally told my husband to do the calling because I didn't feel like these guys were taking me seriously!! I think that's how he found out about the place in Denison.
