when you press the power button do you hear the PC start up (i.e. fans start blowing, internal harddrive starts spinning)?
If nothing happens make sure the power switch on the Power Suplly is flipped on, its typically located in the back of a PC near the top.
If you do hear noise do you see anything on the monitor?

Is the green flashing light near where the network cable plugs in? If so, it may be the network card lights and not an indication that the power supply is working. You might unplug the cable and see if the green light goes off.

If I unplug the power supply the green light turns off. I tried the network wires and the green light stayed on.

so you push the power button and absolutely nothing happens or changes (i.e. a red or green power light comes on....)
it could be any of several diferent things, the power button may be broken, the connections into the motherboard may have become loose or disconnected, the powersupply cables to the motherboard may be loose or disconnected. Depending on the type of MB that you have it might have a red LED light on it, is it on?

There is no red light, just the green.

if their is a light you would have to look at the physical MB, so you would need to take the case off to check, at that time you can also check all the other physical connections into the MB

The hard drives do not spin up?
Do any fans come on?
If not, then maybe the power supply died.
